I’d have taken a few of those out. Prefer Sonic over Sonic 2. Outrun should be in there. Maybe even Pong as millions of people had fun with that even if it was repetitive. Final Fight pipped any Streets of Rage game, although Streets of Rage had the better soundtrack. Too many to list l guess. To me, retro gaming is the 1980s, maybe going into early 1990s.
Agree that the generational gap is too broad to really make a strong list. Need to tighten the years a bit. Hard to compare Pac Man with N64 games.
This is a nice collection of classic. EA has opened its vaults and released a series of classic PC games to Steam for the first time ever.
f you haven't already, consider getting 8-Bit Armies or the new 9-Bit Armies. They're made by some of the same folks from the older C&C, with very similar mechanics; it's just the aesthetics that are completely different.
C&C Red Alert 3 and The Saboteur were two different yet completely unforgettable games to me from a better era of EA.

No character makes smoking look cool. It's the dumbest sh*t you could possibly have your character do in a game as I don't see how it contributes to anything. Even Kojima makes cigarettes damage Snake's health.
That said, Vanquish guy; pops a cigarette after demolishing hordes of bad guys and successfully looks like the biggest douche in gaming. God I miss that game.
@ below: I do wonder if Delsin will smoke in the game. Buying weed from a Reaper would be cool. Slow motion smoke dash all dayyy.

The only reason I would ever smoke cigarettes is if I was a cowboy. Even then it would just be for show
Cigars are alright though
Cigarettes are handy in certain situation. For example in mgs you can use cigarettes to detect infrared sensors and it gives you steady aim.
