Avalanche was 'almost' signed to make 'massive Star Wars open world game'

Joystiq: "At some point between 2005 and 2009, Just Cause developer Avalanche Studios "almost" signed with LucasArts on a 'massive, open world' Star Wars game, according to former Avalanche Studio Manager Oskar Burman and current Chief Creative Officer Christofer Sundberg."

It'll never happen now until EA can make it some kind of always-online MMO. Disney went full retard giving the rights to all future Star Wars games to EA.

My reaction to Lucas Arts shutting down: Well it sucks for the people who lost their jobs but now ANYONE can make a Star wars game, that's f*cking awesome!!!

Few weeks later: "EA signs deal to where they are the only ones who can make Star Wars games." ....god dammit
