How many DVD discs for GTA V on the Xbox 360?

Take-Two Interactive’s Rockstar Games fans set to delve into the big world of Grand Theft Auto V when it hit the shelves September 17.

Well, just how big exactly?

There are no real figures yet, but considering the size of GTA IV which is around 10 to 15 GB, the blockbuster-bound GTA V surely to surpass that by leaps and bounds.

Our idea of GTA 5 being fitted to 60 GB game surely won’t surprise a lot of people.

It must be at least 2, 1 for the single player and 1 for the multiplayer. it is an open world game so maybe after half the game it will ask you to swap out to the second disc?

Sandmano4006d ago (Edited 4006d ago )

Hmmm I never really thought about this. Yeah, two sounds about right but not an extra one for Multiplayer that would be pushing it lol

Root4006d ago

The problem is with that they would make you install the multiplayer since apparently pressing down on your D pad lets you swap in and out of multiplayer. I'm sure I read that on the information blow out a few days ago.

IS it possible for the Xbox 360 to do double layered discs? I mean, the PS3 did it with the western versions of MGS 4. Can it be done with 360's dvd's?

yewles14006d ago

360 discs ARE double layered. A regular DVD only holds 8.5GB double layered, but current XGD3 (XBOX Game Disc 3) discs have extra security encryption, cutting that down to 7.9GB.

Donnieboi4006d ago

Ok just asking a question.

Root4006d ago

I'm going to have to say 2

I'm sorry but if it is one disc then I'll know for a fact that Rockstar held back on stuff for this GTA. Yeah I know it still looks amazing but when you think about how it could of been bigger and better then it already is you feel like your brain could explode.

It has to be 2 discs, it just seems too big for one.

minimur124006d ago

agreed, oen xbox is 7gb

but if they're aiming for 60GB, it'd mean 2 ps3 discs aswell, even a dual layer ps3 disc (50gb) wouldnt be enough

SlavisH24006d ago

i know m$ has exclusive compression tech so 60gb ps3 is NOT equal to 60gb on 360. I would say it will fit 2 discs when all is said and done. I will be playing ps3 or hopefully next-gen system

More interested in money than giving fans what they want. Such a shame

CrimsonWing691d 16h ago

With the amount of money they generated, I just don’t understand the scrubbing of this. It would’ve been fantastic for fans.

Profchaos1d 14h ago

I really want to know who drove the decision to focus on multiplayer was it Rockstar or take two.

Because when online started taking off many of the studio leads began having falling outs and leading including a founder

Ikr mfs that greedy it's ridiculous

andy851d 13h ago

This makes me sad. Trevor was one of my favourite characters in gaming

One of the reason I believe once gta 6 release, most of us thoroughly play it, enjoy the world they crafted then after that no offline support, no dlc at all
