We have about a month left before the next Mario Kart title is finally revealed for the very first time, and this will be one of our last chances to speculate at a time where we know absolutely nothing. Outside of the playable characters, the tracks and courses are among the most speculated of the bunch, specifically the retro courses. Take a look see what retro tracks we think will make it in.
Mario Kart DS still plays a fine game of handheld Mario Kart more than 20 years after its initial release.
I really liked the Mission Mode. They had you doing crazy stuff like driving backwards, or collecting all the collectibles as quick as you can between a litter of enemies.
They should add it to Mario Kart 9 for sure, along w online leaderboards for the mission stuff. That's how they could expand on the already excellent Mario Kart 8, bc track quality it's hard to imagine them getting much better beyond slightly tighter graphics and 4k on the Switch 2. Maybe more Diddy Kong Racing-esque adventure layout w more emphasis on boats and planes.
It's hard to say that Mario Kart DS is the best "handheld Mario Kart" though, bc Mario Kart 8 is handheld. It's definitely got some uniqueness that I appreciated. The 2 merged together would be amazing.
Mario Kart Double Dash, MKDS and Super Mario Kart are the only three that are actually fun to play. Sure MK8 is pretty but its just that. It lacks the soul of double dash. the DS one controls really really well and the orignial with the feather power up is cool.
Nintendo's beloved racing series has been around for more than three decades, but which are the best Mario Kart games?
Want to know what the best selling N64 games of all time are? Here's the top ten list, with many fan favourites and a couple of surprises.
Never understood what 64 meant. Can anyone enlighten me? All I know is my neighborhood friends and I used to play the crap out of it. Favorite games were Cool Boarders, Mario kart 64, WCW vs NWO just to name a few. Man life was simple and good.
Regardless of what retro tracks they include, they can make a shit ton of $$ by releasing new track packs via DLC. And maybe some other goodies like new characters, vehicles, etc.Keep a lot of the unlockable stuff, but add more from that crazy stable of characters and they will sell, guaranteed. I cannot be the only one that would kill for a Zelda pack that includes Zelda themed tracks, character skins, etc. Borrow more ideas from Sonic All Stars and toss in characters from every franchise possible. Cant wait to see what Nintendo has planned!
I wish they didn't use Retro in the title. I nearly fainted with the prospect of Retro leading the development of a Mario Kart. Wow.
Rainbow road
Honestly at this point they may as well throw every track on updated for the likes of this game. Price it fairly and they will have a game generated for everyone from the first Mario Kart lovers re-visiting old tracks updated, and new ones who will perhaps enjoy the mechanics. Do it Nintendo!
