GTA 5 Should Feature Strong Female Protagonist

Honestly, I don't think I would have mind it and I could see it working. I think Rockstar just did it to be safe, since they know their general market. Maybe they'll test the water with a DLC.

I remember when they first showed off San Andrea, people at Neogaf were raging about the thug settings. It was not a pretty day there when the screens were released. But hey look at the game now, it's considered the best out of the franchise by many people.

every time I watch the movie "set it off" I always imagine R* pulling it off. one day maybe we'll see it. until then I think a dlc story with a chick could be a good test.

What a horrid article. While I would love a female protagonist in Grand Theft Auto, this article does no justice in the argument of why one should be included. Plus, GTA 5 already has its three protagonists - they should be talking about GTA 6 (providing the possibility of there being one) instead of GTA 5, where it's too late to change anything so drastic four months from launch.

I honestly wouldn't care one way or the other. I'm sure Rockstar would have a great story regardless. Besides, I get a GTA game for their crazy open world stuff. I don't care much about who the main characters are, what race they are, or what sex they are.

They need to have one but I kind of think it would be a better fit for GTA6, maybe if it's set in an expanded Vice City.

Since they feature three characters in this game maybe the next game could feature two...a brother and a sister, perhaps they could be Tommy Vercetti kids who need to take control of the city again. Least then you have a female and male character.

It never ceases to amaze me how we can't even talk about the possibility of female protagonists in anything without the discussion turning into a cesspit of prejudice, accusations, and rants. Society hasn't really come that far, after all.

I wouldn't mind a female protagonist. I don't feel strongly either way and I care about a well-written protagonist first and foremost, but a female character should be just as viable an option for a lead character.

We've played plenty of father's in vide games (Red Dead Redemption, Bioshock Infinite, God of War, I Am Alive etc), When was the last time we ever got the chance to play as a mother?

That, is a character I would love to see, especially in a GTA game.

Think of her as a Sarah Connor type. She'd be kick ass.
