30 Day Video Game Challenge – Day 2: Favourite Character

Bracken Lee-Rudolph from ITF Gaming Writes:

"For our second day of the 30 Day Gaming Challenge, we’re dealing with characters; Not just any characters, these are our writers’ favourite characters in gaming, due to either their personality traits, the parts they played in the campaign of their games, or because they were just total badasses!"

Loved Zell and Altair too.

Zell's character was pretty memorable, esp. when you get to visit his home and meet his mother haha. His combo/limit breaker was very fun to use, I had the most fun using him, so I'd carry him around and cast aura on him.

Altair was my fav. char of the assassin's creed series too. He had a grim and stern deminar. Wasn't a man of many words, and let his actions speak louder than his words. I loved his character, I was sad to see it go in AC2 and happy to see it return in Revelations.

Zell has always been one of the most memorable characters I have had the chance to play with. It's great to see others have the same opinion :)

Zell? Pfft, Chicken Wuss! :p

Bubble up for funny! "WHAT DID YOU JUST CALL ME?!?!?!?"

....classic

I completely agree, and I felt that in one game, he showed a better character arc than Ezio managed in 3 - by the end of AC1, Altair was a tempered and calm assassin, whereas at the end of Revelations, Ezio was still chasing girls with the same demeanour he did with Christina in AC2.

Wow!

Great picks! I'm really impressed with the characters selected.

Zell is my fav from FFVIII. The only FF characters I like better are Red XIII, Shadow, and Edgar

And Altair is my favorite AC character, and was the only reason Revelations was any good imo (I felt that game dragged and was more of the same). It was amazing and sad to see his fate.

Seeing Altair make his triumphant return near Revelations with assassins stunned and greeting him, showing him love and respect, and following him to the end was awesome.

It was cool as seeing Old Snake's journey in Act 4.

Shadow and Edgar are also great picks. FFVI cast was very memorable, from Loki to Celes (who has a very sad story depending on Ciddy-boy).

I actually felt that Revelations could have been an Altair game with Ezio sequences, instead of the other way around, and I'd have enjoyed it more. He was a far more intriguing character for me, and one that was underutilised by Ubisoft.

Zell needed those hotdogs...never got em' though, poor guy. Has to run like 5 miles to get to the Garden and then...no hotdogs.

Mike Tyson loved him too! Got the same tattoo 'n' shi*.

Ranking the Devil May Cry Series

VGChartz's Mark Nielsen: "Upon finally finishing Devil May Cry 5 recently - after it spent several years on my “I’ll play that soon” list - I considered giving it a fittingly-named Late Look article. However, considering that this was indeed the final piece I was missing in the DMC puzzle, I decided to instead take this opportunity to take a look back at the entirety of this genre-defining series and rank the entries. What also made this a particularly tempting notion was that while most high-profile series have developed fairly evenly over time, with a few bumps on the road, the history of Devil May Cry has, at least in my eyes, been an absolute roller coaster, with everything from total disasters to action game gold."

First to last for me...3,4,5,1,2.

Me leaving it out should be telling of my thoughts on it. Better than 2 as a DMC game.

Still a good game though.

Friendlygamer1h ago

3,1,4,5 to me, never played 2. 5 gameplay is amazing but level design was really disappointing to me, just a bunch of plain arenas, the story felt like a worse written rehash of the 3rd and the charater models looked weird ( specially the ladies ). Another problem with 5 was that there was not enough content for 3 charaters so I could never really familiarize with any of them

God DMC2 was an awful game.
And in case this isn't obvious it goes worst to best
