GTA 5 Gameplay: Why Los Santos Could Be The Best Open-World Gameplay Yet

NowGamer: "After seeing Grand Theft Auto V in action, the feeling I took away from it was the impressive way it wove together elements from the many different Rockstar games we’ve seen released in the past ten years.

This immense world, this county, captures the vibe of San Andreas, with the detail of Grand Theft Auto IV, scale on a par to Red Dead Redemption and the multiple character snapshots seen in Episodes From Liberty City – indeed, if Rockstar wanted to build the ultimate open world, adding up these elements really should yield some success."

Got a very funny feeling, WATCH_DOGS will be bigger.

crimsonfox4007d ago

Got a very funny feeling JAY2 is high.

GTA V is described by many web sites to be the biggest game they have ever seen. we have all seen watch dogs and while the game looks good it doesn't interest me at all. I'm way more excited about GTA because I know how big it is

seanpitt234007d ago

Bigger isn't always better I mean red dead was massive but there wasn't much to do Apart from ride your horse over miles and miles of grass and if you was lucky you would stumble on a town. What iam saying is i would rather have medium size map with loads to do and see then a massive one like red dead with nothing in it.

NegativeCreepWA4007d ago

Watch Dogs may end up being good, but there's only one GTA and I doubt It'll be be bigger.

ILive4007d ago

The graphics for gta 5 actually dont look that good to me. It is a step up from 4, but seems lacking in comparison with its contemporaries.

NegativeCreepWA4007d ago

GTA has a unique art style they've always kept to, the GTA covers are an example.

seanpitt234007d ago

Well its because gta 5 is still this gen using ps3 for the trailers
Watch dogs is next gen using pc and ps4 there is no doubt that watchdogs will look better than gta5 but saying that gta5 still looks good considering its running on 6 year hardware

Scenarist4007d ago

Lets just say if watch dogs matched gta 5 in size, beauty, and options of things to do ..

Gta will still have an unmatched soul

I_LOVE_MYSELF4007d ago

Immense disagrees coming your way.

You could be right. Everyone was saying GTA4 was going to be amazing blah blah blah. I don't know, though. I sense GTA5 being a return to form.

ape0074007d ago (Edited 4007d ago )

with all due respect watch dogs looks good but it seems so generic compared to GTA, plus R* north is the best city environment designer in history, nothing matches the gta environment design/feel, they know how to make the city fun to play

While I'm hyped about the single player, I'm curious what they have in store on the multi-player side, RDR had so much too do in co-op.

Gta v is poised to be the kind of sandbox games. Has anyone read the previews? They are bringing back all the good stuff that everyone fell in love with in San Andreas, and more. This includes but is not limited to, customizations of cars, clothes, physique, weapons, tattoos, accessories. One can upgrade their driving skills, shooting skills, lung capacity, and stamina. We have the ability to play missions in stealth mode. Silenced weapons, planes helicopters, massive play area, original story, amazing graphics, improved physics and particle rendering. The list goes on and on. It's merging San Andreas and gta IV together and bringing the pros of each to form the best gta ever.

DARK WITNESS4007d ago

exactly... well said.

And everyone keeps bringing up watchdogs, i am sorry but is this watchdogs being made by the same ubisoft that brought us AC3..?? Ya it looks amazing and so did AC3 when they were showing off the trailers etc, I am holding off the hype for that game till i play it.

R* have a track record that very very few dev's have matched. I have more reason to believe gta will be the amazing game it's looking like then any other open world game.

-Gespenst-4007d ago

Just Cause 3 will trump it.

bluetoto4006d ago

I've always wanted R* to put all their best elements into one game so one would never have to change the disk.

Feel like racing? add the driving from Midnight club with some tweaks. They could make a whole side mission out of underground races. Same for planes and boats.

Murder by the numbers? plenty of guns and targets to choose from. Not to mention 3 player co-op heists(I'm hoping).

Hopefully the melee is tweaked enough to make fight club side missions fun.

Guess we'll see soon enough.

More interested in money than giving fans what they want. Such a shame

CrimsonWing699h ago

With the amount of money they generated, I just don’t understand the scrubbing of this. It would’ve been fantastic for fans.

Profchaos8h ago

I really want to know who drove the decision to focus on multiplayer was it Rockstar or take two.

Because when online started taking off many of the studio leads began having falling outs and leading including a founder

This makes me sad. Trevor was one of my favourite characters in gaming
