The Android Atlas controller specially designed by Green Throttle Games for use on the TV appears almost identical to the Microsoft's X-Box 360 controller. Green Throttle is gunning hard for the console gamer market, can this controller help them capture it?

it is clear to anyone who looks at them that the Xbox is an evolution of the Dreamcast controller that is an evolution of the Saturn 3D controller that is in line with the N64 controller... a completely different controller path from duel shock despite it's duel analog controls... it's not as if MS hasn't been making controllers for years and years before hand

Kalowest4008d ago

MS was suppose to buy Sega, but B.Gates thought in the end it wasn't going to be profitable. Also MS helped with the Dreamcast's OS. MS and Sega was buddy buddy for awhile, that's why Xbox had alot of Sega ports/games.

A.D.H.D, I'm so off-topic.

I've never once ever heard of a deal involving ms buying sega. Gunna need to see a link otherwise Im pretty sure its fanboy ranting to the point of foaming at the mouth.

After Sega flopped with the Saturn (sales wise, was a great console), they went 3rd party and now are all over Nintendo, xbox, and sony.

creepjack4008d ago (Edited 4008d ago )

sure they did, but it is the standard for video game controllers now. Sony would do well to rip them off on that too.

rustyspoon804008d ago

It's all a matter of preference. I recently got to play COD at a mates house on 360 and I couldn't get used to the stick layout after years on PS.

Although, Im wanting to have a crack on Team Fortress on PC and know the xbox (PC) controller works best (after k/m obviously).

JoGam4008d ago

Exactly. Its preference. My opinion is the Playstation controller is better.

Kalowest4008d ago

"I couldn't get used to the stick layout after years on PS."
I own both systems and the main thing the PS3 controller has over the 360s is that it's AWESOME for fighting games. And for FPS's that control layout is universal(commands/input) almost FPS's follow it, All thanks to Bungie. The controls are almost the same, but with the Xbox just switched the left D-pad and Analog.

creepjack4008d ago

The quality of the PS controller is far and beyond better than the 360 controller, but ergonomically, the 360 controller just feels so much better in my hands. The size, the offset sticks, and the triggers are FAR superior, especially for shooters.

jeffgoldwin4008d ago (Edited 4008d ago )

Overall I feel the 360 controller is more comfortable, however, the biggest issue is what controller you've spent years getting accustomed to.

I have a Logitech controller that is very similar to sony controllers, that I hated at first. Now after a few weeks, I changed my grip from the 360 controllers and I like it a lot.

So basically both are really well designed setups and will be changed next gen.

Millions of Playstation fans would hunt Sony down tar and feather them if they changed the controller to that. I love the DS controller, and wouldn't want it any other way.

L-a-i-n4008d ago

I am with you there man love the DS controller a lot more than the Xbox controller just feels wrong to me.

Donnieboi4008d ago

Who cares if an android controller was ripping off xbox's controller? That's MS's problem, not ours.

lastofgen4008d ago

You could say the same thing about other things we argue about. For example...sales.

DarthJay4008d ago

"You could say the same thing about everything we argue about."

Fixed.

It looks like it but that's not a bad thing as the Xbox controller (switchable D-pad version)is my personal fav of all the systems I've owned.

PC gamers use it as well so It can't be a bad design eh?

I used to use a adapter to use a PS2 controller on a pc last gen but you had to map most of it yourself. PC Games now come with xbox controller support and that's great IMO.

vikingland14008d ago

The D pad is the only thing I see different.

Cueil4008d ago

that d-pad is offly close to breaking sony owned patents

Still have my ps3 copies. Bought it at launch and another one when I found it cheap and in perfect condition about 10 years ago. I wouldn’t buy it on Switch but if they made a PS5 version I would. I still have one of my PS3 Fats hooked up so good to go either way.

darthv723h ago

Id play it again on the switch. I wished my 360 version was bc but this is still a good way to play.
