I think Virtual Reality is the holy grail of gaming. Whether or not it is the next big thing remains to be seen, not because of whether or not the idea is good, but because of how well the tech is implemented.
VR is the only way I can think of that increases immersion to the kind of level we gamers always imagine the future to behold.
