The step backwards for the series . . . NOW AVAILABLE ON CONSOLE!
PRE-ORDER NOW!

Drekken4005d ago

Most anticipated sequel ever in my gaming career and it happens to be the biggest gaming disappointment of my lifetime.

I knew Blizzard quality would take a hit when they merged with Activision, but I was hoping their integrity would still be there... unfortunately it wasn't. I think the main problem with D3 was the fact Blizzard North is long dead and the WoW heads were running the show. They killed my favorite franchise.

It is amazing to me like a small studio like GGG Can pump out a free game (Path of Exile) that is 100x better than a massive AAA game like Diablo.

kostchtchie_4005d ago

Path of exile is brilliant game

"The step backwards for the series . . . NOW AVAILABLE ON CONSOLE!
PRE-ORDER NOW!"

Well the real down side is, PS3 near the end of its era with PS4 around the corner.

Anyone buying Diablo 3 on PS3, will probably have to cough up money again for the same game on PS4.

Console gaming can just get so expensive having to buy the same game again and again.

+1 man u said exactly what I was thinking, D3 was my most anticipated game also & acti-blizztard ruin one of my most favorite game series of all time, but we r very lucky all us hardcore Diablo fans for having GGG & PoE to give us what we were looking for I <3 PoE!

I was looking forward to this game and while I wasn't blown away by it, I was far from disappointed. I hardly played it at all in the end and I think the reason is, I just hate PC gaming. I spend 8-9 hours a day staring at my screen, the last thing I want to do is spend my leisurely time sitting at my desk, clicking my mouse and keyboard. And it seemed like every time I wanted to play the damn game it was having to update something. Give me a console controller, my couch, and my home theater system any day of the week. Just turn on and go. That's how gaming should be.

I may pick this up on my PS3 at some point and give it another go. I was a PC gaming only guy for decades and once I got used to consoles there's just no going back. I thought if there was any game that could entice me back, it'd be Diablo 3, but I just wasn't feeling it and I really don't think it was the game so much as playing on my PC. I know, I know. You PC guys (of which I used to be one) always go on about how great PC gaming is, but it really isn't for everyone. I think PC gaming is a younger man's hobby. My gaming time is limited. I just can't be bothered anymore.

aquamala4005d ago

you do realize PC can use a console controller and use HDMI for your TV/home theater?

Sunk4005d ago

It won't by any different on ps3.... it will be the exact game whether you're sitting in a computer chair or couch.

Anon19744005d ago (Edited 4005d ago )

@ aquamala. Of course. But why on earth would I bother? I'd have to have a separate PC somewhere close to my man cave, set it up, run all the goddamn windows, driver and game updates. Configure everything. Buy a controller. Configure it for every blasted game. Then I've got ongoing driver hassles, the cost, updates, driver updates, incompatible devices, endless fiddling with game settings to actually run properly. Nuts to that. I jumped through all those hoops for twenty years. I've got kids. My gaming time is limited. I'll be damned if I'm losing even 5 minutes of that time to having to mess around with the PC. That's already why I stopped play Diablo 3. I just have no patience for the endless hassle of PC gaming.

The whole point of consoles is the ease of use. I plug it into the wall and into my home theater receiver. I turn it on and I'm gaming in seconds. Even when there's updates, I can just ignore them if I choose and play anyway. And it's a helluva lot cheaper. For me, ease of use easily trumps any graphical advantage that PC gaming enjoys (and that's not every PC setup, obviously). And on top of that, the exclusives I want to play often aren't even on PC.

Again, more power to those who have time to make PC gaming their hobby. There's nothing wrong with it and I'm not bashing it (I notice at some point over the years PC gamers became quite a sensitive bunch). I had fun back in the day with Doom, Civilization, SimCity, Wing Commander. It's just not for me any more.

@Sunk. It's not that I expect the game to be any different on my PS3. I don't. I expect the experience to be more suited to my gaming preferences. I don't judge people who swear by PC gaming. I'd appreciate the same courtesy. Not talking about you, but I was shocked when I saw PC gaming loosing their minds because this game was going to the consoles. What's up with that? I'm happy to see a good game go multi-console because it means more players will get to experience that game. Or when Final Fantasy showed up on the Xbox.

I just don't get what's wrong with gamers today.

@SlapHappyJesus

Just had to come in and beat your chest and try to flex your muscles didn't you, embarrassing.

MadLad4005d ago

Is that what making a statement is?
Interesting.

I seem to think I am one of the more decent and open-minded posters who frequent this place.
*shrugs*

I don't know, Utalkin2me.
Just had to come in and beat your chest and try to flex your muscles, didn't you?
Embarrassing.

Utalkin2me4005d ago (Edited 4005d ago )

Yeah your right, my bad. I see this is a PC article and my post was trolling....rollseyes...

kostchtchie_4005d ago

PC version was the step backwards for the series after the brilliant Diablo 2 & LoD, after playing the beta of diablo 3 you could tell the whole game was designed for consoles

ThanatosDMC4005d ago

6 slot skills. I'm guessing the two primary and secondary will be on the R1 and L1 while the square, triangle, x, and circle will be the other skills.

Neko_Mega4005d ago

How so? The first one was on Playstation, so yeah.

Plus you never heard of "More Money"?

The Greatest Video Game Comeback Stories in Gaming History

Who says a dud game can't have a video game comeback?

Cyberpunk and No Man's Sky have to be up there. We're lucky and cursed, equally, to have games that can be updated now. For folks old enough to remember the Sega/SNES into PS1 and even 2 eras, if a game came out that was half baked (*cough*Angel of Darkness*cough*) that was it, no redemption. At the same time, having the option for updates shouldn't be an excuse for half assing games.

thorstein75d ago

I remember when the Nintendo Seal of Approval meant something.

All those games had to release without bugs.

shinoff218375d ago

Comebacks shouldnt be a thing in videogames. Just saying.

Diablo III - Still a Huge Draw in the Face of Diablo IV

Diablo III still works on modern PlayStation and Xbox consoles, and remains hugely playable a decade after initial release.

Palitera384d ago

Are you comparing a continuously improved 10+ years old masterpiece with the... beta of an unreleased game?

kevco33384d ago

Heh, yeah. There's no comparison in here! Its a commentary on how III is still very playable over a decade later.
