Damn, but that dude practically IS Batman. Ugh, first David Hayter, then the dude from Thief, and now this.

animegamingnerd4007d ago

don't forget sam fishers voice actor as well

MaxXAttaxX4007d ago

No Rocksteady, no Kevin Conroy.

Best case scenario, Rocksteady is currently working with Kevin Conroy on the true next-gen sequel of the Batman games and Origins is only filling the gap.

jsslifelike4006d ago (Edited 4006d ago )

You don't think that Will Friedle couldn't do a decent job? After all, Terry McGuiness WAS genetically reprogrammed to BE Bruce Wayne, after all. Plus, he sounds... "inexperienced".

Oh, and I really liked the LEGO Batman 2: DCSH Joker. I could buy in.

BattleAxe4006d ago

I liked the voice actor from Splinter Cell: Conviction. I wonder why some of these voice actors aren't returning...

Root4007d ago (Edited 4007d ago )

It's sickening....get the original voice actors if you can, they are the ones which made people fall in love with the characters.

....by the way you can add Ironside to that list of yours

David Hayter
Stephen Russell
Kevin Conory
Michael Ironside

The way this game is going...I don't know why they bothered, it's obviously a quick cash in

madpuppy4006d ago (Edited 4006d ago )

80's TV and movie bad guy, Michael Ironside. he's the coolest!!

and lets not forget Scanners...

NCAzrael4006d ago

Hey, Michael Ironside was a pretty awesome good guy in the War of the Worlds TV show.

majiebeast4007d ago (Edited 4007d ago )

Yeah this is pretty bad Kevin Conroy is Batman not Clooney,Bale,Killmer,West or Keaton they did their own spin on it but Conroy is Batman. Same for Mark Hamill as the Joker.

So this is pretty bad. He has been Batman for me since Batman the animated series in the 90's.

aliengmr4006d ago

I'll give you Clooney, Keaton, Kilmer, and even Bale, but not Adam West.

PopRocks3594007d ago (Edited 4007d ago )

You know, I was willing to give this game the benefit of the doubt... but now I'm not entirely sure. I mean it may still be fun, but an Arkham game without Kevin Conroy? Just doesn't seem right.

@Donnieboi below

Heck if I know. I certainly have no idea. I don't see what the point of it would be. If this is canon to the Arkham games, why wouldn't you at least get Kevin Conroy?

According to the article the reason is this is a "younger Batman." Last time I checked, Kevin Conroy sounded great as a "younger Batman" in Mask of the Phantasm, but whatever.

Donnieboi4007d ago

Yeah I dunno what their thinking. A lot of strange things happening this year in the industry. Maybe e wanted too much money or something to do it. Still, who else will they find? Maybe they want a younger sounding voice because it's a prequel? I don't know what it is. It's crazy.

Root4007d ago

You know they keep saying "Younger" Batman and make out it's that far in the past but it dosen't look like that much of a prequel. I'd say 3 years, 4 max by what we've seen

They are making it out to be Batmans first adventure where the Joker dosen't exist yet but it's not set that far in the past

Godmars2904007d ago

And Mark Hamill is on record as retired from doing the Joker :(

majiebeast4007d ago (Edited 4007d ago )

Yeah who can forget christmas with the joker.

I feel sad for the kids that have to life with todays cartoons the 80's and 90's were so good and now you just have trash except for a few shows like Transformers prime,Avatar,TMNT(not as good as the olde) and the now canceled Green lantern animated and Young justice.

Godmars2904007d ago

@majiebeast:

This is the last season of Transformers Prime, and then its 13 episodes.

In the US anyway. in Japan however this is coming:

DragonKnight4007d ago

@majiebeast: Too true. Cartoons today are just terrible. We got to have incredible shows like X-Men, Spider-Man, TMNT when they were at their best. These kids today are having their minds destroyed by My Little Pony and the like.

At least there's hope that Legend of Korra is a decent sequel to Avatar. I just wish they'd come out with the new season already. And then we have Young Justice, which was something I considered to be similar in style to Batman Beyond, and they go an cancel it for a new Teen Titans show when there is still so much to answer about what happened during that 5 year period between seasons, Wally becoming one with the Speed Force, Darkseid.

The people running these networks have to have A.D.D. or something.

Hercules1894007d ago (Edited 4007d ago )

@all of you above, theres a lot of great cartoons today, adventure time, regular show, gravity falls, plus all those you mentioned and plenty others. I grew up during the 90's and even tho i enjoyed the cartoons you enjoyed i still enjoy the cartoons today, you just have to open your mind oh and MLP is great, it might not be for you but for some reason it can turn a bad day into a great day

SilentNegotiator4007d ago (Edited 4007d ago )

No Kevin Conroy, no Mark Hamill...
Time to go cry into my pillow.

What's next?
Clancy Brown not being Luthor?
Daly/Newbern (both great and similar voices) not being Superman?

Donnieboi4007d ago

Yeah I know, I feel like it's the year of "abandoning gaming voice actors" in the game industry this year.

NBT914006d ago

No need for Hamill if his character is dead.
I honestly think that Rockteady are working on Batman Gotham City for next gen. There are loads of hints in Arkham City that Scarecrow is out for revenge on the city and Batman, plus he knew Batman's true identity. They will have all the original cast for that I'm sure.
Would be sweet as all things if Joker appears at the end of that game as being alive...
There must be so much fan pressure, even from people like me who just liked the Arkham games, let alone bonafide Batman fans

blackbirdi4006d ago

they try to reduce cost they want to hire 500 dollar guy

Gamer-Z4006d ago (Edited 4006d ago )

ugh this game is turning into the equivalent of Bioshock 2

Lucreto4007d ago

I understand why they haven't picked Kevin, but I don't have to like it.

smashman984007d ago

After reading the article I'm kind of excited especially reading that all the boss fights are inspired by the fight with freeze in arkham city easily one of my favorite boss fights of the generation.

I'm a little sad about Conroy not being picked up for the role I mean it makes sense why but I can wait and see how the new one will do

Heisenburger4007d ago

Woah....

Then again I didn't write off Christian Bale simply because Michael Keaton didn't reprise his role....

So I suppose logically I should give this cat a chance.

Meh. :(

Rezka4007d ago

I have known Kevin Conroy for the voice of Batman since my childhood they can't do this :(

The best Batman Arkham game still isn’t on PS5, and that’s a problem

Suicide Squad Kill the Justice League is almost here, but I can't revisit the best Arkhamverse game on PS5 without sacrificing quality.

Not a fan of Orgins. Blame it on the absence of Conroy & Hamill. Blame it on the lack of atmosphere compared to Asylm. Hell blame it the devs thst dicked over Wii U owners like me that purchased the game only for support be dropped as a thank you to me. It's better than Knight but that's not saying much. I don't care for that entry either.

Rebel_Scum92d ago

tbh buying a game like that for WiiU should’ve been an obvious non-purchase when it existed on better hardware.

Cacabunga92d ago

Origins is amazing..
my favorite Batman is Batman and Robin on mega drive.. an HD REMASTER of that would still look glorious

ZeekQuattro92d ago

I got it launch. Kinda hard to go back. I'm supposed to know they were going to drop support months after the fact. 🤣

Exvalos92d ago

You sound like a salty fanboy, that it didn't come to your precious plastic of choice. It's not the developers fault Nintendo continues making underpowered hardware. It's our fault because we keep buying it. Yes I say (we) I'm part of the problem as well.

ZeekQuattro92d ago

I have a PS3 and a Wii U. How was I a salty fanboy? I bought the game on the system I wanted it for.

Rebel_Scum92d ago

Nah my comment has nothing to do with whether you’d know or not that they’d drop support.

Buying any AAA game of that era for a WiiU you should’ve known you’d be sacrificing graphics and load times.

LucasRuinedChildhood92d ago

It's solid but Origins is definitely not the best Arkham game.

LoveSpuds92d ago

Smacks of hyperbole to me, talk about clutching at straws to create some drama around PS5!!

generic-user-name91d ago

Titles like these are designed to get you to come in, go to their comment section and tell them how they're so wrong so they can boost their numbers.

Phoenix7692d ago

Even though its not the best arkham game in the series, its still an enjoyable game in its own right. What it do really well at though, was the crime investigations scenes. Which imo, were the best of the franchise.

goldwyncq92d ago

I don’t know about best game but it definitely has the best story and boss fights.

boing192d ago

Never played it and recently I've finally tried it via cloud on psn. It's not the best for sure, but it ain't bad either.

Batman: Arkham Origins - Open World Busy Work that Doesn't Hold Up 10 Years Later

Batman: Arkham Origins launched 10 years ago today, and sadly doesn't stand the test of time as well as its predecessors.

Petebloodyonion173d ago

I fail to grasp why this title is worse compared to Arkham City (according to the article) as the author didn't provide any argument to explain why aside from that it felt the bigger map compared to Arkham Asylum made the experience less tight.
More importantly, the author seems like he never played Arkham City since he described the game as linear (alongside Asylum).

The Unjustly Forgotten Batman: Arkham Origins Deserves A Resurgence

Despite certain flaws, Batman: Arkham Origins is a splendid entry in the legendary Arkham series and deserves better than being forsaken.

lellkay286d ago (Edited 286d ago )

It's the worst of the three in my opinion, but still really enjoyable. Definitely underated and gets far more crap that it deserves.

Should be included with the other Arkham games in the bundle.

Demetrius286d ago

I'm honestly enjoying it alot, my first time playing since I just decided to get a Xbox 360 slim for 65$, I cop some other gems too tho, I went into Arkham origins not expecting better than Arkham city but it does deliver plus the guy who voices batman did a good job aiming for the young Bruce impression
