there's NO RPG elements
no PVE
very few suits(no heavies incoming yet)
no weapon modding (the art is done but the code isn't)
no paint bucket(promised since close beta)
The FPS elements haven't been fully refined

well what i'm trying to say is it's too early for Dust514 that's with the next expansion until the core of the game is really refined moving out of beta will only drive casual players away from the game and back to CoD.

JakemanPS319944015d ago

You havnt played the game in a while then because it does most of those things you listed plus with uprising update on may 6th it will have much more.

Tony-Red-Grave4015d ago

i play it to this day. what i mean by no rpg elements, which i should've worded as barebones rpg elements, is that right now all you can do to earn SP is kill people. Ccp mentioned that there will be other ways to earn SP and salvage but there's been no mention so far.

the other things i mentioned are just small things that help keep the game interesting. PVE isn't coming in uprising, please provide a source if otherwise. the FPS elements are going to be refined in uprising i know but right now, and the way it's been for months, is just so bare bones and slightly clunky with bad netcoding atm.

I hold D514 in the same regards as i held MAG and when MAG came out of beta you could tell the game had it's core features very well done. it felt like a complete game when it launched and i expect no less from D514.

JakemanPS319944015d ago

i remember reading that they will be doing pve down the road but later they have been a pvp sort of company, allowing the players to shape the world.

Temporary4014d ago

You definitely havent played this game...because most of what you just said is FALSE tony. I play this game everyday, and it's amazing.

redgr814015d ago

I wanted to like this game but it has SUCKED. Unless the beta was way off from the finished game, it's still gonna suck.

MidnytRain4015d ago (Edited 4015d ago )

I couldn't get into it. I know it's a beta, but I just couldn't imagine this being marketing as a full game. Not even f2p. It just felt so sloppy and confusing. I felt like it was missing a ton of things that would make it awesome. I didn't like the level design either; it felt random and without purpose or place.

HammadTheBeast4015d ago

If you guys check out some gameplay of the new build, it looks miles better than the older ones. Everything about the UI has also been worked on to make it much less "sucky".

Temporary4014d ago

This game isnt for people who like CoD twitch shooting with no need for skill or vision on how to build a character.

Stick to the baby shooters :) leave the complicated ones alone, dont hurt your pretty little head over it.

PS3gamer4life4015d ago

The game sucks to me i like defiance

Knight_Crawler4015d ago

Even tough this is a F2P games it really sucks... Destiny will be getting my time.

HammadTheBeast4015d ago

Yeah, good luck with a game that you've seen nothing but CG of. And even if it's anything like the videos, it won't reach even a quarter of it's potential on PS3/360.

violents4015d ago

thats why they call it a beta, they are testing gameplay mechanics and servers and the like. This uprising update is adding/fixing a lot of stuff. Complete overhaul of the skill trees, better graphics, and more. Oh and they are supposed to refund all skill points and game credits because of the skill tree overhauls so you get to rebuild all your characters when the update hits. I'm excited!

Seems like they have a lot of faith in the Uprising update.

this should be interesting.

Findingcrybabies3003d ago (Edited 3003d ago )

wow. that's messed up. I don't play the game, but shutting it down and then a month after that showing your replacement game after you told the community screw you. LOL. Remind me to never support or play a CCP game. There are games that came out many years before this one and the devs keep the servers up for people.

samden3003d ago

It's on an old console and was nearly dead in the water when it launched. Not much of a community left to anger. Quite frankly, it sucked, and I'm excited to see what the next one will bring.

Tony-Red-Grave3003d ago

From launch to death Dust was only really ever a poor mans M.A.G. God I miss M.A.G and Valor.

Pongwater3003d ago

Dust 514 was free so I don't see your point, but I do find your name ironic.

@Tony - Yeah I still wish for MAG2, or even a PS4 remaster of MAG.

evergrace3003d ago

One of the worst shooter games on ps3.

noxeven3003d ago

I remember them saying it was supposed to contribute to eve and everyone was up in arms and that never happened and it just fell to the way side

Pongwater3003d ago

I'm not sure enough people ever played DUST 514 to say "everyone was up in arms", but there were in fact cross play battles between EVE and DUST.

It was a cool concept with some sizable flaws, but I'd be interested in a sequel that addressed some of those flaws. I thought I heard there was a PS4 version coming, but maybe that's my imagination.

tanukisuit3003d ago

It was definitely ambitious given the tech involved and how late into last gen we were. They tried though and cross gameplay is getting more relevant, so I think not all was lost...

Player-created DUST514 Trailer Calls For EVE:Phoenix

DUST514 players create EVE:Phoenix trailers as part of their #PortDUST514 campaign.

Since the announcement of the DUST514 sequel EVE:Legion by CCP Games at FanFest 2014, there has been an almost eerie silence about the project from the game’s creators. Domains and trademarks were registered, and later left expired, for the EVE:Legion brand, and the player base was left watching as no actual news or progress updates were given by CCP, even at the various player-gatherings or CCP’s own FanFest 2015.

The players of DUST514, both past and current, have rallied under a banner, #PortDUST514, led by Ripley Riley, and are using this hashtag on social media to highlight that there is still a desire for a sequel or a port of the game to a more recent platform than the Playstation 3.
Most recently, this has resulted in the players creating propaganda posters and “memes”, and even voiced trailers, for what they themselves have named EVE:Phoenix.

The player Pokey Dravon, with the help of several other players, created this trailer for the campaign.
