BioShock Infinite is very much a BioShock game. That’s obvious from the title, of course. But the two games are more intrinsically linked than that. Characters, mechanics, and settings are all shimmering reflections off the same pool of water: the final image is slightly different, but both come from the same root picture. BioShock and BioShock Infinite are in a quantum entanglement, stemming from the same strand of DNA. As a result, they share many ideas.
In the second article, Lachlan Williams explores some of the more mechanical similarities, and how they express various themes that link the two games.
Again, this article contains SPOILERS for BioShock and BioShock Infinite, so do not read if you do not wish to be thoroughly spoiled. Ye have been warned. Again.

Twinfinite: “War may never change, but the prices of rare games do!”
"And lastly, famous Boston Red Sox pitcher Curt Schilling helped to create the action-RPG’s setting. What’s really fascinating, though, is that the game was partially financed by taxpayers from Rhode Island (which allegedly lost the state millions of dollars). Yikes!"
1. Now infamous Schilling
2. No allegedly, it did. And they couldn't pay it back.
3. What really lost the money wasn't the SP release but the MMO they were working on. This was supposed to be an introduction into the MMO world.
I hate counting limited editions for these lists. I mean, they're made to be rare and expensive. It's far more interesting to hear about the NCAAs (even if most people know that one already) and the El Chavos than some massive hit that came with a $200 statue at retail.
Most Xbox games don’t hold as much value compared to other systems. Kameo, Blue Dragon, Last Remnant , and a handful or 2 of other games that I kept.
I really really hate to say it becaus I was very much looking forward to Infinite (and maybe that's the problem) but I think despite loving Infinite's ending the first Bioshock will always be better to me.
I love them both for different reasoms but both r at the top of my all time list because of the world and story. To be honest, bioshock 2 was better in every way except the story and the fact that it isn't new.
Anyeay, someone finally wrote what I was thinking about the vigors. They were created to make money...used by some to keep certain ppl in line. But Comstock had these ppl believing to the point that they didn't want them. They were a carnival side show and booker took advantage. They even comment on it.
Infinite needs some episodes now. Religion has been covered so there's no need to reiterate that.
Let's see an episode based around politics featuring Saltonstall, examining the kinds of tensions that lead to World War 1 and how America entered that war as its own singular power.
Bioshock - Better atmosphere
Bioshock Infinite - Better gunplay and gameplay (much improved over Bioshocks combat)
Bioshock - Story (was just more interesting)
It's a tough one. Gameplay is important and is Infinites strength. Bioshocks strength is the atmosphere.
Overall I would have to take Infinite, due to its better combat and gameplay.
Bioshock was more memorable though due to the atmosphere and story.
