I just wish Kojima didn't close down the MGO/Metal gear Online servers so soon if he knew that MGS 5 was going to take so long. I loved MGO, and am so bored lately, that I barely enjoy any of the other online games I have.

lol you realise if it was next gen then it wouldnt even be ready until 2018. if theyve taken so long to develop it for this gen then you can triple that amount of time for a next gen release because its more work to develop.

it will be for next gen systems, or maybe both current and next gen. MY thing is next MGS won't be out till fall 2014 so by than it makes sense to launch on next gen systems

Mgs3 is mainly my favorite duo to the gameplay, some part of me still think mgs2 was the best on getting everything right.. also some part still thinks of mgs4 as the best.

I respectfully disagree. The whole prologue chapter with the famous monologue "war has changed" might be the best opening to any video game that has ever released. I wouldn't call that a childish anime.

I agree that MSG4 was disappointing. But ony because MGS1 and MGS3 was just on a whole other level.

The boss battles in MGS1 with Psycho Mantis, Liquid, perfect story and the two different endings makes it my favorite though ;)

I had this feeling when playing mgs4 .. its just me but I liked the fact that all the mgs games were in one setting (mgs1,mgs2,mgs3).. instead of flying all over the world. still disappointed that the game didn't turn out like the e3 2006 trailer .. but still its one of my favorite games this gen.

I hope the gun first person view is still being used in mgs5. although the tps is nice but I still prefer shooting in first person in mgs.

I enjoyed the first 2 acts whilst using stealth. The rest of the game felt CoDish. Nothing but boss fights, robots and explosions. It simply doesn't compare to MGS3, but that is just my opinion.

Yeah because that whole tiff between them wasn't a joke or anything (just wait, you'll see). Also I'm sure the director of a video-game that pays voice-actors will go running to someone he pissed off and say "oh please sir, won't you take my bags of money sir?" as if his life depended on it. Then again some people seem to think Hayter is owed some sort of lifetime position with MGS or something even if he was to be dropped. He's a voice actor, it's his job. What happens with a job like this? You do your task, you get paid, you go home and look for another one.

MGS 1 was probably the best Game ever made! Was just a blast when it was released, never seen before... the fight against Mantis on the PS1 was for many their gaming moment in their lives! Nothing comes close to that experience... getting mad, destryoing the gamepad..
MGS 2 was okay-ish, i guess. Great intro (5%) mediocre 95% Gaiden Spy-game...
MGS 3 Superb! Fight against the Boss was just perfect (flowers...), Sexy Eva!
MGS 4 okay-ish, ddint play it (skipped this current gen), but didnt like it much (youtube walkthrough), about the same sensation like with MGS 2

in other words : MGS 5 has to be his next masterpiece! Btw... might be wrong, but didnt he lead the project/devs on the first game and third ? Im not sure, but i thought someone else took over his part/job on MGS 2 and 4 (i remember him whining a lot about doing other stuff/genre-games and he would like to be more a supervisor and not the lead-Developer).

The Only issue I have here is that, will kojima sell us 2 parts of a game instead of one?? I mean he did tell us ground zeroes and phantom pain are MGSV and yet he somehow cannot comment when geoff keighly questioned him if the prologue will also be included with phantom pain. Kojima said he cannot answer that at the moment. So thats a Hint that Konami wants to sell us half a game!! both for full priced $60??. But there is a solution that I can think of, They can sell us these 2 parts as long as its a Full blown game each, with standard MGS gameplay hours and not a short one. Then I would be gladly buying both, I will just think that ground zeroes is MGSV part 1 and phantom pain MGSV part 2. like FFXIII and FFXIII-2 or FFX and FFX-2.

Yeppers, haven´t played much these 7 years (few PC games), compared to my previous addiction run-throughs :

ca. 50 PS1 Games (PAL and NTSC US and 1x chipped console, 75€ per game import sold everything for about 500€ for a dreamcast)
ca. 65 PS2 Games (2x Pal, 2 NTSC JP and 1x NTSC US Console (damn import and GT3! Release)
ca. 20 Dreamcast Games

I could´ve done sumtin else with that money.... in other words : not buying the same cr-p game again, just with better textures.. easily "lost" 15000 € past these 15 years, PS2 transition was especially hard on me...

Tbh. the demo didn´t impress me much. More polished as before, but still has the same "look and feel" of todays games... too "plastic".. just another step in the wrong direction. Developer should start making gaming looking diffrent, like with the PS4 Launch Title The Witness.

Aren´t we sick already ? Every game is just a more polished - shader 4.0 game than the previous one, like it has way too much bumbmapping and the sort. We need more games ala Flower in terms of graphics, truely unique and not just a copy of the usus. Can´t wait to play The Witness!

MGS has very few fans anymore. It's gone the way of Final Fantasy. I hope companies don't leave themselves in too big of a hole developing these games. As gamers, we don't want to see layoffs and closed doors because some stupid product manager pushed for a game that no one plays anymore.
