The New Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Game Looks Badass

Considering Activision is putting this game out, it's a movie tie-in AND that movie is being directed by Michael Bay, I'm surprised to say, that I think the footage of the new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles game looks really good.

I love TMNT and this game looks really good considering its a download only title. I hope a full blown next gen game is made after this.

TheStorm4012d ago (Edited 4012d ago )

The movie is not being directed by Michael Bay, he's working on TF4. He is producing it. Jonathan Liebesman is directing it.

But I'd rather neither of them be near this but...I hope for the best.

"Considering Activision is putting this game out, it's a movie tie-in AND that movie is being directed by Michael Bay, I'm surprised to say, that I think the footage of the new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles game looks really good."

Ignore the entire section about it being a movie tie-in directed by Michael Bay, because it isn't. The game is based off the new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Nickelodeon show. The developers just decided to change the way the Turtles looked in the game.

Whoever wrote this article needs to get their facts straight.

LOL_WUT4012d ago

Michelangelo is a party dude! ;) Instant buy.

TheStorm, what does that have to do with anything Sandmano said? And better yet, who asked the question to your comment?

starchild4011d ago

Yeah, but it looks good in any case. In my childhood TMNT played a pretty big role. It's pure nostalgia for me now. I am looking forward to this game.

Eyeco4011d ago (Edited 4011d ago )

At the risk of getting a napalm strike of hate, I really hate the TMNT cartoon series, compared to the original comic books which was incredible, dark, serious and gritty in tone, the turtles would actually kill people because you know with them being NINJAS and all, the cartoon series all of them for that matter was an absolute cheesy, cornball joke,it was like comparing CSI to Scooby Doo.

Heck I'm not on my own on this one I remember reading that the original creators hated the animated series. Seriously read the original comics you'll be amazed by how violent they were.

You mean, Teenage Mutant Arkham Ninja Batman Turtles?

:P

jeeves864011d ago (Edited 4011d ago )

Aww, the page glitched up as I was commenting and it posted a reply to the wrong comment.

Bleucrunch4011d ago

Its Activision so I am immediately skeptical about this game.

Knight_Crawler4011d ago

Can they still call the movie Teenage Mutant? Its been a long time and the Turtles must be very old now.

Adult Mutant Ninja Turtles maybe.

Sandmano4011d ago (Edited 4011d ago )

I hope your joking... lol.

jeeves864011d ago

Turtles live a really long time, so they're probably technically still teenagers.

It looks like a fun game but... the Turtles looks terrifying to me

vork774012d ago

agree lol i would still play it because they have unlock able costumes

Deadpool6164011d ago

I really hope they get their Intergalactic Wrestling costumes.

vork774011d ago

or there cartoon skins

Sandmano4012d ago

Yeah the design could use some work, their a little too skinny for me...

Muffins12234012d ago

Yea i think they where going for a realistic art style. There not really skinny but there skin looks wrinkly and if you see one of those giant turtles you'll see there skin is very much close to this

Thepcz4011d ago

if you actually think about it, their size is more realistic considering they are ninjas. i mean, bruce lee was thin/light, so he could be flexible and nimble.

the turtles have always been depicted as hench. like, bodybuilder big. why would they be that big?

its more realistic if they have muscle, but not so much size, like bruce lee

jeeves864011d ago

They're gigantic mutated turtles and you're talking about them being "realistic" looking?

Thatlalala4011d ago

They look exactly like the curent cartoon running. But still yeah your right, Donnatello's head reminds of the Koopahs from that awful Mario Bros. film.

ReubenPatrick4011d ago (Edited 4011d ago )

I was really turned off by how the turtles look...

EDIT:
Because the transition from loveable 2D cartoon Ninja Turtles to fully blown realistic 3D video game Ninja Turtles was kinda creepy.

I had to make it clear

Jek_Porkins4012d ago

I think it looks like a right proper beat'em up, sort of like an updated version of those classic Turtles games, I like the art style, a bit more rugged like the original comics intended.

Crazay4012d ago

well played porkins. The comics were much gritty in appearance and feel and these turtles look much truer to the form that Eastman and Laird had for them lo so many moons ago.

Root4012d ago (Edited 4012d ago )

Ahhh the wonders of editing software for Activison studios...make a game look as awesome as you can and then when it comes out it's average at best

Seen it before...Deadpool will probably end up with the same fate aswell

Software_Lover4012d ago

I would really like a Dark Turtle game with different story arcs for each Turtle. Shredder is a real Bad @$$ that you fight more than once. Splinter is dead/killed. Some real "ninja" sections. Just something different.

Of course Beat em ups are still fun?

Activision Pulls TMNT, Fast & Furious Games from Digital Marketplaces

Since it's not just Spider-man, it may not be a simple case of franchise rights moving to another publisher. Fast and the Furious and TMNT aren't owned by Marvel/ Disney.

Activision may simply be trying to push away from licensed franchise products

gamer78042662d ago (Edited 2662d ago )

also the 2 worst ninja turtles games ever made, the recent nickelodeon games, atleast those had some of the charm of the tv series and old style tmnt games.

Cmv382662d ago

Spider man taking down because of the new one. These taken down because they are utter garbage.

lodossrage2662d ago

Spider-man isn't being taken down because of the new one coming up. It's being taken down because just like TMNT and Fast & Furious, they are no longer willing to pay the digital licenses on most of their franchise products.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out Of The Shadows Review (PS3) | Metal Arcade

Metal Arcade: Jason Bakker writes:

As a TMNT fan since childhood, I was in the minority of those who enjoyed Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out Of The Shadows when it released last August for PC and Xbox 360. PS3 players have been waiting an extremely long time for the PSN version to release with no real updates – so long, in fact, that many believed the game was cancelled. Booting up my PlayStation 3 review copy after all this time felt a bit surreal, but when the awesome menu screen popped up, with the Turtles in their iconic poses from the first issue of the comic book, I was amped up to play through it again. There are definitely some problems here — including a practically unplayable online mode — but overall the game nails the TMNT vibe and backs it up with fun combat.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows (PS3) Review - Push Square

Push Square: "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows falls frustratingly short of its full potential. As a consequence, this is a completely mediocre brawler, which fails to do anything especially interesting with its parent property. This PS3 port may be more stable than its counterparts, but that doesn’t redeem its archaic gameplay and bland visuals."
