It was just announced that Nintendo would be doing a much smaller scale E3 this year. This is really disappointing. E3 is like the Super Bowl for gamers. It is the grand stage. Nintendo doing a quieter show is like a team dropping out of the big game. They are assuring us they will have some sort of presence, but that is like your hometown friend moving a hundred miles away and promising to "keep in touch". It's a nice gesture, but in your mind you know that it won't be the same.
Hanzala from eXputer: "The cruel hammer of Nintendo has fallen. Farewell, 3DS and Wii U, you surely brightened my life and many others; you won't be forgotten."
Hanzla from eXputer inquires: "If Xbox can care about preserving its games and legacy, what exactly is wrong with Nintendo, trying to kill game preservation single-handedly?"
Ahh yes the good old game preservation of saving all your games to a removable hhd on the Xbox 360, taking it round your mates house, setting up multiple tvs to
Be met with “save data corrupted, please re download”
Or how about removing 360 games
From the store
, download them now or else, and, better hope to god that save data doesn’t corrupt, or it’s lost for ever
Nice one ☝️
This is just a scammy PR move to distract from the fact they are going digital only and trying to push streaming and subscriptions only.
No gaming company has pushed harder to remove ownership than Microsoft.
Without discs there is no preservation, preservation can't be done by the rights holders it can only be done by the consumers, anything else is a lie.
Nobody wants this. Sales or the lack of it in the case of XBOX is very telling. I wonder how the adorably all digital series X will fare. Adorably dismal perhaps?
Only time will tell, but for from someone like me suspecting that Xbox is trying to gracefully exit the console market, that "forward compatibility" team is trying to get Xbox games playing on Windows PCs. I mean, it's nice that they're not planning on exiting with a "enjoy your games while the hardware still works" message, so that's nice. They still have a brand to protect via Microsoft so probably feel obligated to have a better exit strategy.
Danish from eXputer: "Nintendo has historically gone against player-made content and emulation of its games. This has done much to harm the company's image."
They need to stop announcing these mods and fan remakes until they're finished. Finish it, upload it, and then if Nintendo dmca's it tough shit. Once it's online, people can share it around, even if the original download gets taken down.
This is all coming from the mouth of short-sighted fandom and grifting madness.
No.... it wont. There is a clear defined reason why they don't. This is nothing new. Make your own shi7 from your own original ideas especially if you are trying to capitalize of it it. Duh.
Yeah, hire people that have zero respect or understanding for an established process. Wow. Yep. Totally makes sense.
the author of this article is not gonna watch the show? sucks
I hope that this means that the media-
-Like Spike TV and G4 (does it even still do gaming?)- adapt with Nintendo's new "Presentation" >"Present-Play-tion Style" ;).
It would be nice to see the journalist walking around playing new games and giving an honest reaction, rather than their canned "Less Polygons=Nintendo Doom."
After most E3's the only good news about Nintendo appears after the dust settles and the Hands-On reports are written.
Ex. NintendoLand and ZombiU virtually every hands-on said these games were fun but most eyes-on had so much criticism.
But if they show -off a NEW Zelda, I think that it is mandatory them Mr. Miyamoto has to come out dressed like Link- I will definitely miss seeing there true unabashed Geeky-Passion.
You know they are gonna be there, they just won't have a presentation.
Nintendo knows they screwed up badly, gimmics wont sell their systems anymore. Wii fooled alot of people, motion controll but shyty graphics and terrible games.
nintendo should just go software only company, put zelda on ps4/next xbox would look 100times better than wii-u.
The fact that they have opted out when they really needed to take the big stage and say "gamers the WiiU is still relevant" has me really worried. They needed to show that they can offer just as much as Sony and Microsoft with the WiiU.
In my opinion they have made a very bad move.
They need to show us why we should buy a WiiU, not preach to people who are already hardcore Ninty fans.
Anyway I hope it still goes well for them, I will miss seeing their big stage presence, it's going to be weird just having the big two to look forward too instead of three.
