GAME expects PS4 to launch in Europe this year

GAME expects PlayStation 4 to launch in the UK this year, according to marketing material spotted in store.

have had games and consoles listed to be released but that haven't been true.

Wouldn't make no sense, the Playstation brand is bigger in Europe then it is in the US even. Sony would be stupid not to chase its biggest market!

It would make no sense for them to delay it in Europe seeing how popular the Playsation is in here contra the US (The Playstation have sold a lot more units in Europe than in the US)

I thought I heard they were going to start marketing(ads) for the PS4 during a football championship, or soccer for us Americans... If this is true I could see Sony releasing in the EU at the same time or MAYBE even before a U.S release

I use to work in Game the only reason we start doing this is because the console will be coming out this year. Also helps early hype.

Got my deposit down with GAME, just waiting for that confirmed date. Is E3 here yet? *waits patiently*. I'll be gutted if it ends up being a 2014 release, but at least I'd still have plenty of games to play on PS3.

Well that is very good. There was a story last week about the first PS4 advert will be on during the Champions League final in the UK.

That alone is a good indication it will be released this year. No point advertising in May if it is coming out next year.

Why don't they release it everywhere at the same time. Sony always has problems with advertising, pricing and, distribution.

Supply issues are no doubt the main problem. Then there's the chaos of launching a new product in every single region. Things are bound to go wrong somewhere. Launching at least a few weeks apart is as close as well get to a worldwide launch.

It's pretty sad that in 2013 we're still unsure whether we will get the console the same year as the Americans. The last thing Sony needs is to start next gen by playing favourites with American gamers.

Im in NYC so im good (also where ps4 reveal was done!) but i hope i do get a chance to play some killzone with my European brothers day 1. Ive met some good gamers from EU and have them on my friends list.

And that is one of the reasons I suspect that this time the console will be available at the same time world wide. To divide the players of a game like Killzone for instance wouldn't make much sense.

a) I've seen those cards in GAME for a good month now.
b) It most likely will hit in the EU in 2013 because it's best to get it out rather than screw a side of the world over by making them wait like Sony did with the PS Vita.

Here in the UK they closed quite a few stores. In the city I live there used to be four GAME stores all in one city centre. I think the problem with GAME was is that they had too many stores all close to eachother, so it was probably a wise choice closing some down to save money in the long run.

Same in Southampton, (though you might be talking about Southampton) ridiculous set up where we had Game stores within half a mile of each other.

They still charge more than everywhere else as well.

Whenever I go past one it is always empty. I honestly want them to die, I fucking hate Game.
