7 Most Wanted Gaming Crossovers

Dealspwn writes: After looking at the insane mashup that Sega, Namco and Capcom have put together for the upcoming Project X Zone on the 3DS, it got me thinking about other gaming brands I'd like to see pushed together. These could be games pitting legends against each other in a fight to the death or something involving them working together. Publishers and IP owners can be very protective over their brands, but here's a selection I think would work well together given half a chance.

i want tomb raider/uncharted but i want the badass lara,i like the new one but she isnt as well badass as the original.

i also want ratchet&clank vs jak&daxter vs sly cooper.

bggriffiths4020d ago

Well now Lara's had her origins story she can toughen up a bit. Mind you, in the last game she went from apologising to deer to ramming an arrow into a guy's neck in a disturbingly short amount of time. Loved the game, it's just the 'arc' was a bit jagged if you know what I mean?

Contemplated putting Sly in there, but thought the sci-fi edge would be tricky.

pr0t0typeknuckles4020d ago (Edited 4020d ago )

i agree, i mean yeah i know she finally became more edgy like the original and thats evident by how the final confrontation went down, but i like the original lara ore so because she was more acrobatic, and actually used some mythical artifacts from time to time.

and i dont think it would be to hard to put sly into a sci-fi game, while jak and ratchet both live in a futuristic city while sly lives in the present, bently did invent a time machine,so they could still meet up in that sense.

We're not allowed to have anymore character cross-over games.
According to some people, Nintendo apparently "invented" the idea and should be the only ones that have the right to do it.

TuxedoMoon4020d ago

That list was just plain terrible.
The only one that I'd like to see would be the Uncharted and Tomb Raider one. Maybe add a sprinkle of Asscreed to spice things up?

elpresador4020d ago

Let's face it, if u have been gaming since at LEAST the early 90s there is ONLY ONEE crossover that needs to be done and one only.......that would be MORTAL KOMBAT vs STREET FIGHTER

DragonKnight4020d ago

Mortal Kombat vs. Killer Instinct.

Zodiac4020d ago (Edited 4020d ago )

Halo and Metroid? And how about a Mascot platformer in 3D? Mario,Crash, and Sonic. The game could be complete crap, but it would be the worth the money for those three on the same screen.

pr0t0typeknuckles4020d ago (Edited 4020d ago )

actualy it could be one of the best games ever if they took the best elements from each game, but i agree with you because the closet well ever get to those type of crossovers is useless party/sports/minigame/or half-arsed handheld games spyro orange and crash purple for example, should have been a ps2 game, but instead was a crappy 2 piece gba games.

BattleReach4020d ago

Assassins Creed and Disney Pictures' Cars.

L.A. Noire And Bully — Rockstar's Lost Gems That Deserve A Sequel As Much As GTA

Hanzala from eXputer: "I do appreciate GTA 6, Rockstar, but if I could trade it for a new L.A. Noire or a Bully game, I'd do so in a heartbeat."

Skuletor17d ago

How are they lost? You can get L.A. Noire on Steam, PS5, Xbox Series and Nintendo Switch and Bully is on the PS5 and Xbox Series too.

Psychonaut8517d ago

I want a new Manhunt game. But that will never happen.

Demetrius17d ago

Mfs are too sensitive nowadays and would cry instead of being concerned bout real world problems

Demetrius17d ago

Whenever gta 6 launch we won't be getting another rockstar title for another 10 years lol but on the positive side they bou to come back n show how open world supposed to be done 🔥

Skuletor17d ago

I won't expect any singleplayer DLC like IV's The Lost & Damned or The Ballad of Gay Tony after it launches either

We've gone on many adventures with Lara Croft. With another reboot in the making, Wealth of Geeks felt it was a good time to go down the nostalgia rabbit hole and remember the best of those tomb-raiding thrills.

I do agree that Tomb Raider Angel of Darkness was the worse one 😂 I remember playing some of it and I took it back. That game was just awful in every way. I bought it used at gamestop and glad they had that 7 day return policy for used games 😂

Pyrofire9559d ago

Would it be worth saying why?

ZeekQuattro59d ago

Simple. He's been hating on the Tomb Raider reboots for years. I can't imagine seeing them at the top of a best TR game list let alone being on the list in general sitting well with him because of it.

-Foxtrot59d ago

Zeek

“Hating”

No no, just pointing out how TR mutated into a generic action adventure game losing the appeal of what it once was when it was more about puzzles and platforming over going Rambo, slaughtering waves of enemies

But hey, continue being a dick and speaking about me like I’m not going to see the comment.

MeatyUrologist58d ago

Foxtrot, I'm curious if you have played the most recent games. Sure the 2013 reboot was hugely focused on combat, but each follow up became less and less about combat to the point where outside of a few large scale story missions I don't even remember combat being a part of shadow of the tomb raider. Shadow was so puzzle focused it actually was a bit much for me and I love the TR puzzles.

I still feel like Rise was the best of the series and I was a huge fan of the originals. To me it struck the perfect balance of exploration, platforming, puzzles, and combat. Not saying your opinion is wrong I'm just curious what you think they should have done different. Games do need to evolve somewhat to stay relevant. Would you prefer small linear jumping platform levels like the original?

RavenWolfx59d ago

I would agree Rise for 1 and the reboot as 2. Shadow is a bit high, though.

Sonic188159d ago (Edited 59d ago )

I think Shadow wasn't even develop by crystal dynamics. I thought it was the worse in the new trilogy

Pyrofire9559d ago

That's right. Shadow was developed by Eidos Montreal who who went and made Marvels Guardians of the Galaxy next. (Great game)
Meanwhile after Rise of the Tomb Raider, Crystal Dynamics made Marvels Avengers. (bad game)

MeatyUrologist59d ago

Agrees. First two are correct but Shadow should be around 5-6.

terstomp59d ago

For me, Legend should be alot higher (along with the other two ). Shadow, I enjoyed it, but has too much has fluff, as modern games tend to do. Playing the remastered series, and apart from the controls, is very good.

jznrpg59d ago

I really enjoyed the first 2 games, Legend and the first of the reboots and the rest I didn’t get into so I never finished.

robtion59d ago

Completely subjective list. I really liked Underworld, I preferred Lara's design. That said I loved the horror/uncharted feel of the reboot. I think all the TR games have strengths and weaknesses. None are objectively better in every way.
