Nintendo shocked us earlier this week when they announced that they would be localizing Mother 2 for North America as Earthbound. Now Clyde Mandelin, one of the members who help translate the Japanese Mother 3 game to English for fans is offering the English script to Nintendo for free.
IGN writes: Mother 3 is one of the most hotly-desired RPGs ever, having never received an official translation in North America despite the cult popularity of its predecessor, Earthbound. But over all these years, series creator Shigesato Itoi has never weighed in on the discussion - at least until now."
The long-awaited documentary, which highlights the online community that's built around cult SNES RPG EarthBound over the years. It's an examination of the power of online communities and fandom, and the impact that Shigesato Itoi's series has had on its fans.
EarthBound is bona fide classic and part of gaming royalty that somehow still feels like a hidden gem.
Mother 3 is in my personal Top 5 games ever. It was very original and entertaining. I hope Nintendo jumps on the opportunity to use the fan translated version.
Whether it happens or not, that's pretty freaking awesome.
Now Nintendo has NO excuse! C'mon release the game officially now!
nintendo i will make you a offer i will buy every game you release next gen rather if its good or bad if you do this
What about Mother 1? Why does no one want to play that one? What's so special about Mother 3?
