Amazon only offering 25 cents for ‘Gears of War: Judgment’ trade-ins

amazon doesent easily make errors like that, if that's the trade in value it's because they have a buttload of them in stock and arent moving much and they really don't want anymore so they offer a really low value to discourage trades.

and if u dont like the value that they're offering for a certain game they allow you to sell it through their site where u can set ur own price and they just take a small cuf from the sale. I've made a good amount from reselling game on amazon that it paid for more than half of my gaming PC I was building at the time.

I was curious and called Amazon about it, and it's not an error. A customer rep put it much like thechosenone says, it's all about supply and demand. If there's no demand, they'll pay you peanuts.
GameStop actually comes out smelling like roses on this one. My local one was offering $21, provided it's in good condition.

What you're probably seeing is an amount designed to discourage flips or a default amount till they decide a value. I know BB will not list games till they know how well they sold and what type of value the game probably has. Needless to say, it's probably an amount someone just typed in so they had a value for TIV. Similar to how BB listed (maybe it's still available) the Persona 4 The Golden Vita skin for $9.99 (though it's still free with purchase) or how Capcom listed the Biohazard Revo 3DS case for $50.

Unlike Gamestop, Amazon goes up and down depending on their stock of a game. Once they sell of their stock the price will go back up. But they must have a ton of them. I once sold FIFA to them for $27 after missing out on a $34 offer. A couple of months later it was up to $32.

the trade in value was $45 (glitch maybe?) about 2 weeks ago, that was on sites like cheapassgamer, lots of people must have locked in at that value, now they must have more copies traded in then they expected, that's why the value tanked.

if you want immediacy, jut put in the extra $20 you think you're gonna save from the trade in credit and get what you want. You can always sell those used games after and earn back your $20 plus wayy more.

It's not a bad game really. I'm still enjoying it. Over run mode is fun. To be fair it was really cheap to buy, only $50 (Australian) in stores at launch. Which is a bargin. I give it 8/10

It's an obvious error. If you were to send in the game, the company would fix it.

A third party company does it, and they are actually a pain (in a good way) about used titles. If it's scratched at all, they wont accept it.

However no matter what its going to be lower than doing it yourself. If "someone will buy it for more" then sell it, why do you think GameStop under cuts that price? Because that same guy you didn't sell the game to, is the same guy they will sell it to. You lose money because Gamestop (or amazon) are taking the risk, need a profit, and are being convenient for you.

It's not an error and it makes sense: it's a matter of supply and demand. Judgement is high on supply, yet no second hand stores in amazon even sell it (probably some microsoft policy) and so there is no point in having a second hand copy:

Gears judgement = Shovelware. That is the answer. Cut and paste garbage. I really enjoyed the gears series. I owned 1-3 and played judgement recently. It has lost it's appeal and I don't see gears getting it back any time soon. I'd rather see another Unreal game IMO...

Im not surprised that it didn sell! First off all I think cliffy b didnt have anything to do with it and basically judgement wasn't half the game the game like the others and it had no promotion!

It may not have sold as well as previous Gears games with its lack of marketing, but it still sold better than 90% of games that are releasing these days. $0.25 has to be a mistake. I bet even Duke Nukem Forever would trade for more than that! :P

I expected this low sales numbers for GoW Judgement. The series was at its peak with GoW 3 and it went downhill quick after.

People always complain about trade in values being a ripoff. No one is screwing you over when trading a game is optional. Thats the price, take it or leave it. There is no ripoff. The value reflects the market. If there is no demand for it, they can't give you a high price and then get stuck with a bunch of copies they cant sell. Everyone thinks their old game is worth $50 and they should give you what they are selling it for. You can't run a business if you don't make enough profit to cover the overhead, salaries, marketing, and purchasing future products. And you can't get stuck with old products you can't sell or have to sell at a big loss. The used game market is no different than any other retail market. The only problem is most gamers do not understand business like they think the do.
