did you read the article, because that list only had 2 and maybe a possible that would count as things that are missing. most of the items on the list really just need a little clarification or want to be tested by the author. But the biggest eye sore is that the system wasn't completely revealed. i think by Sony giving us a taste of the system, they can squash the majority of rumors to stop people from speculating and giving out false details of their system. Great move; granted we want more clarification on some things, but the base concept of the system exist and is known.

I 100% agree with the triggers slide. Until I get my hands on a controller I won't really know but it seems they still aren't quite up to snuff. Xbox 360 controller triggers are triggers done perfectly.

And btw, "needs to clarify" does not mean "needs to clarify now". Nor does "10 things PS4 is missing at the moment" mean "10 things the PS4 won't have" any more than it means "10 things we'll see from the PS4". This isn't criticism. It's just a statement of what we have yet to see.

Anyway, I thought Sony had already made official statements regarding used games. PS4 will support.

Personally I think the 360 triggers work best with shooters. What I'd like to see the most is concave PS3 triggers.

I am not a CoD head but whatever! I don't see how having Xbox 360 controllers could possibly only be good for shooters. I'd be really pissed off if these triggers on the PS4 controller still don't have enough of a concave surface for them to work well and be comfortable for long periods of play! The PS3 controller seemed like it was gonna be awesome but it was terrible and nobody wants to use R1 in shooters. It just doesn't make sense to be playing a shooter or racing game using a button and not a proper trigger..

Cant appeal to both crowds though as you said, people hate change, yet lots of people want change. You do one thing, people hate it, you do another, people hate it.

No disputing for me that the Xbox 360 controller is just way better for my hands! I just find the DS controller too small for my hands and I hate the symmetrical sticks too:p better get used to it though since Ima get a PS4 day 1

1) Nintendo's 8th gen systems are already out. Why can't people criticize a released system?
2) Microsoft hasn't shown ANYTHING of their next system, and their own employees (and supposedly leaked documents) are making it sound very probable that their next Xbox will be online only.

I honestly felt like this is all stuff Sony should have told us the day of their announcement.
Seriously. Why make a new console announcement when you don't have a release date, price, games, or even console to show?
They said, "hey, we have a console coming out"
Then showed us some tech demos, very little actual development on PS4 games, and a controller.
The best games they showed were Current Gen and some were multiplatform.

Maybe I'm crazy but my thought is that We shouldn't have to wait to see this stuff. Sony should have waited to show it until they had a little more hammered out.

Seriously, though, this article is really nitpicking a bunch of stuff that isn't even an issue yet. Pretty much all of these things will be addressed in the coming months. Complaining about this stuff now is like complaining that there hasn't been a trailer for Avengers 2 yet.

And I don't see the problem with the triggers on the controller. You can easily tell from the photo they used in the article that there is a concave curve to the triggers.

Why does Sony need to clarify used games? According to the Eurogamer interview they confirmed it would, so that doesn't need to be clarified.

Also I don't see why 4k support is listed either. Currently the average (most?) people on this site / will buy a PS4 will not have a 4K TV till far into the future when they're cheaper.

I hate that its always games like "Killzone" that are deemed "system sellers". Knack had me really excited and looks like a wonderful game that can really sell a system. Why must the industry be so focused on First person shooters? :(

Knack did look very fun and I am wondering how many different versions of knack there are in the game... They showed some very interesting game play dynamics. But as a fan of KILLZONE it makes me very happy to see them continuing on the franchise to the PS4. KILLZONE 1 on ps2 is probably my favorite game for that system KILLZONE 2 among my favs for PS3. Really the point is Sony has lots of different exclusives that cover a wide range of genres... Platformers to adventure to indie games to shooters playstation has something for every type of gamer.

A man doesn't think he was saying it'll be the best game, just that it will get the most people to buy the system when deciding. Since FPS are the most popular genre (along with sports) those games naturally attract the largest audience if you can get them exclusive. Also KZ is fantastic. A man will most likely get Knack but will wait for reviews on it and AC4 before getting them for PS4.

Going off that tech demo thing, playing "split" screen where you need those glasses to see P1 and P2 correctly would be amazing. Besides this one feature (which I doubt the PS4 could even accomplish for most / if any game), it seems completely trivial.

No.6 Decent triggers - have been answered.

No.7 4K support - also have been answered ( 4K-resolution actually depends on the game developers' *budget and *infrastructure capabilites and not on Sony or it's PS4 console which I'm sure Sony can implement so quickly since they have the resources. It's the movie/film industry which 4K-resolution is more geared towards to at the moment. ). Even free-to-air channels here in Oz can only go as high as 1080i in resolution with most using just 576p.

One **other thing I'm really interested in knowing once the PS4 console is actually out and being reviewed by all gaming websites - is the amount of noise/bearable or lack of coming from the internal cooling/exhaust fans.

Do hope Sony can fix/alleviate this problem, because it sorts of adds and ruins the audio experience when you need to feel good clean sound coming out from the surround speakers.

Honestly my PS3 generates a lot of noise ( sometimes even if the temp in my lounge is quite evenly cool to freezing. ) which is the one main thing I really dread when putting it on and playing games. My XBox360 also does the same but is less noisier.

Are you talking about noise as in like interference, like a buzz or hiss in the background, and kinda weak sound for actual stuff you're watching/playing? If so, the problem is on your end for sure. Myself and some friends are kinda audiophiles......though not the supergeek kind. But enough to know our stuff and own fairly high end components. And we both consider our PS3s to be our cleanest source device.

It sounds to me that people online convinced you thos $5 hdmi cables you can get online are indeed "good enough" (which they aren't). Thin, cheap cables like that ar cheap because they're not shielded or not well enough. And hdmi is ultra sensative......unshielded hdmi pick up TONS of interference from power and even speaker wires.

I always recomend nevr buying those lame, thin cables. At least spend the 20-25 bucks on the clear, shielded and reinforced cables walmart sells. Those are good value.

If you know for sure you already have properly shielded cables, it souds like you could perhaps have some pos and negs crossed on your connections.

It HAS to be something other than the ps3 itself because i know its a really good audio source. Check out all your connections and make sure you don't have any birdsnests back there.

4k support for games is not going to happen, and i'm pretty sure they already stated it'd be something that's not very viable, hell it even takes one hell of a PC to even get a game to play in 4k, and that's with lowered settings.

And they've already clarified on used games, the system will not block them, but that's not to say publishers won't go to certain extents to block playing used versions of their games(online pass and whatnot)

This is terrible. Judging a controller triggers based on pictures is like saying a song is bad without listening to it. 4k? Yeah, we need 4k games for our 4k TV's which are in 99% of households, not even 99% own HD TV's.

As for third party exclusives, we've nothing to go by yet, that's like me saying "The 720 lacks first party exclusives, mainly due to it currently having none announced".

There are to many fanboys and xbots commenting, in my opinion both controls have their flaws like the xboxs' charging methods are to complicated they need to make it more simple such as the ps3. The problem with the ps3 is the L2 and R2 buttons need tweeked cause i always accidentally throw un-needed grenades no one wants that. So instead of ignorantly claiming your system of choice is better focus on the cons of both.
