Mother 3 Fan Translators Say They’ll Give Their Script To Nintendo For Free

Nintendo shocked us earlier this week when they announced that they would be localizing Mother 2 for North America as Earthbound. Now Clyde Mandelin, one of the members who help translate the Japanese Mother 3 game to English for fans is offering the English script to Nintendo for free.

Mother 3 is in my personal Top 5 games ever. It was very original and entertaining. I hope Nintendo jumps on the opportunity to use the fan translated version.

Whether it happens or not, that's pretty freaking awesome.

Donnieboi4017d ago

Now Nintendo has NO excuse! C'mon release the game officially now!

PopRocks3594017d ago

For once we agree. No excuse at all.

Donnieboi4017d ago (Edited 4017d ago )

Yeah we do. I still love Nintendo's franchises, even when I don't agree with everything they do. I really wish Nintendo all the luck in the world, and i'm trying to see the cup as half-full now. Can't wait for E3, because Nintendo is up against a wall, and that is when Nintendo is at it's most dangerous.

I'm praying for a new Star Fox!

EDIT:

Yo is there a petition to get Nintendo's attention so that they accept this script for Mother 3/Earthbound in English? I'll sign in a heartbeat.

Kamikaze1354017d ago

I could be wrong, but I think Nintendo's company policy wouldn't allow them to accept the script - even if it's being given to them for free.

Donnieboi4017d ago

I hear what your saying, but "rules are meant to be broken" (or so the cliche goes). It's their own policy (assuming such a policy even exists). They can change it if they want.

Shnazzyone4016d ago

it would be an awesome way to finally launch the GBA virtual console on 3ds

animegamingnerd4017d ago (Edited 4017d ago )

nintendo i will make you a offer i will buy every game you release next gen rather if its good or bad if you do this

kirbyu4017d ago

What about Mother 1? Why does no one want to play that one? What's so special about Mother 3?

Slowbrosef4017d ago (Edited 4017d ago )

Mother 3's story and music is great. It tackles a lot of tough subjects with a charm. One of my Top favorite games ever, and the only one to ever get me to feel bad for a character. Mother 1 is difficult and hard to get into IF you played 2 and 3 first.

Earthbound Creator Says Nintendo Considered Mother 3 Translation, But It Was Complicated

IGN writes: Mother 3 is one of the most hotly-desired RPGs ever, having never received an official translation in North America despite the cult popularity of its predecessor, Earthbound. But over all these years, series creator Shigesato Itoi has never weighed in on the discussion - at least until now."

Zenzuu139d ago

They should remake Earthbound, and bring it to modern platforms.

meganick139d ago

A translated version of this game on Switch Online would be nice, and it would add a lot value to the Expansion Pak service.

jznrpg139d ago

Bring it already. Nintendo is frustrating at times

jjb1981139d ago

I would love to see an Earthbound game just redone with 3D-ish models and characters. Just having a remaster for Switch Online would be awesome!

FinalFantasyFanatic138d ago

Did you ever see the Earthbound 64 concept/materials? That actually looked really good, but I'd also take a HD-2D remake as well.

FinalFantasyFanatic138d ago

Nintendo seems very whimsical about what they give they're fans, sometimes they'll give them a bone (e.g. Mario RPG, Thousand Year Door for the Switch), and other times, they just give them little to nothing (agh, the Zelda anniversary).

When you consider the cost of gaming back then and even now, no excuses when costs are involved.
