It's been a long time since first Mass Effect arrived on Xbox 360 and shook things up in the western RPG genre. As revolutionary as it was, the franchise as a whole grew and morphed into something much bigger (and to some, more bloated) than it ever could have been prior to EA's acquisition of Bioware. How does it play after all these years?
Earlier this year, BioWare was hit with layoffs as part of a downsizing of parent company Electronic Arts, but fans have been reassured that the next Mass Effect game hasn’t been impacted. Likewise, Dragon Age: Dreadwolf’s development is still churning along, with BioWare putting it at the forefront of its focus and rumors suggesting that it could launch sometime later this year. Fans might be getting another look at the long-in-development Dragon Age: Dreadwolf at the Summer Game Fest in June.
If the recently posted job offering for a temporary development manager is any indication, BioWare could have yet another surprise up its sleeve for when Mass Effect 4 and Dragon Age: Dreadwolf are nearing completion. This mystery BioWare video game could truly be anything, from another spin-off of its two major properties to something entirely new. All there is to go on at the moment is a vague mention in the job posting, and it might still be some time before BioWare is ready to confirm any new games in its pipeline.
So a studio that spent years on anthem then this dragon age thing is now also working on another ip along with mass effect,
You think they would be worried that there brand has been on 3 major screw ups
Dragon age 3 launched broken with the frostbite engine yes its a good game but you can see in the late game how rough it was
anthem......
Mass effect 4 well that dev team was fired so yeah.....
They should make sure this new dragon age is a goat instead of putting more work on the table
How about they focus on those games and not over extend themselves? We don't need another Anthem.
Bioware died after Inquisition (some would even argue after ME3). They are no longer the same company.
During a part of his interview with Minnmax, Mac Walters gave details of why he chose to leave BioWare.
Today is known as Mass Effect N7 Day, and BioWare has released what looks to be teasers for the new Mass Effect game.
We really need another solid Mass Effect entry. It's a real shame that such a legendary franchise was left off with such a blemish to its overall astounding track record. Andromeda was just not it, don't know what they were thinking there.
Surprised it got a subtitle
I thought after Andromeda they’d have kept to the numbers so people wouldn’t think “oh another spin off”
Unless Shepard returns
Yes! One of my all time favorite trilogies. Hopefully they do ME justice. Andromeda was passable and had bones of a good game but just lacked the depth and intrigue that the originals had.
Just replayed ME1 again recently and couldn't agree more with the gameplay issue. It plays really bad compared to ME2 and 3. The aiming and shooting mechanics are really bad.
The rest of the game is still great :)
Fun thing is that i often consider ME1 to be the best game in the series, but its two main missions, Feros and Noveria, are actually really boring the second time you get to them. I just love the intro, the Citadel, Virmire and the final mission enough to ignore what didn't work in the game.
I have yet to play 3. I loved 2, but it just felt...what's the word I'm looking for...not as expansive as ME 1.
It's still the best in the series. 2 was okay, smoother gameplay but fell extremely hard in story and what made the first an RPG. The 3rd was just bad all around. ME1 made me want to explore and do all the side mission, ME2 did that until halfway when they pressured you into the story and if you strayed a tiny bit your ending was ruined and 3 was just straight to he point with no breathing room. I hated the lies they said "everything from the first game will be effected in the 3rd" except everything I chose in 1 was the opposite in 3. Wrex alive, rachni alive, tali was alive even though I killed her accidentally in 2. Me3 was a mess.
Too bad Bioware had to ruin dragon age like they do with mass effect.
