NewMonday4018d ago

never played this, time to see what's it all about.

rezzah4018d ago

Hope you enjoy it.

It shows the evolution of ND from 1 to 3.

mt4018d ago

just played jak and daxter HD last year on PS3 , the 3 games are of of ps2 gems.

HarryMasonHerpderp4018d ago

The original Jak & Daxter is by far the best out of the 3, the sequels are still worth playing though and still great games. I wish they stuck to the original game more but at least you can get something different out of each game.

Y_51504018d ago

It looks like it does not unfortunately. :(
It's completely separate from the console version.

Skate-AK4018d ago

That's pretty cool. I'm just going to get the PS3 version cause I can get it for under $20.

skyrimer4018d ago

Better wait for the price to be announced, I highly doubt this will cost more than $20-$30

Skate-AK4018d ago

It's been announced. It's $29.99.

Ult iMate4018d ago

Main reason of portable J&D Trilogy is that you can play it anywhere and not just at home.

daclynk4018d ago

And people are complaining and bitching about nintendo bring old games back. lol
NINTENDOMINATION.

Sanquine904018d ago (Edited 4018d ago )

Whats Nintendodomination? * Fanboy alert* Please just go away! How is the Wii U doing?

LOL no wii U? I bought one for pikmin 3 but that is also delayed.... doing great you say... Yeah i only play monster hunter on it.. Pretty expensive console for just 1 game... All the other games already played the most of them.. What a shame.

daclynk4018d ago (Edited 4018d ago )

ohh the Wii U is doing great.i dont have one right now coz i will be getting one after E3 but im enjoying the hell out of the 3ds right now. hahaha.

Th4Freak4018d ago

"the Wii U is doing great". VGChartz and Famitsu disagree.

rezzah4018d ago

There is a difference between a never ending cycle, and a line that has a end.

Something that has a end, people will want to "replay" it over and over again. To experience that feeling they likely will never get again. It's like the books of Shakespeare.

In terms of what Nintendo does, they recreate worlds (stories) for their characters. So nothing never truly ends.

The similarities is what people love, being able to experience what they like over and over again (nostalgia).

The difference is the line with the end allows more room for new creations. Where as those with a cycle are recreated with variations, yet is still the same thing at its core.

This is what separates you and those who oppose your opinion. People may love nostalgia, but your approaches to it are different.

Is that which never ends more beautiful than that which does?

I think based on your answer to this question may reveal to you your approach to nostalgia. Thus, your liking towards the practice's of Nintendo vs. everyone else should be understood.

Now that you may understand this, hopefully you see the reasoning behind your claim isn't the same as there's.

Ron_Danger4018d ago

And this is where the N4G community has the power to make a change for the better. Daclynk brings up Nintendo for no reason other than to troll...

So just click Bubble Down so we don't have to deal with that as much.

rezzah4018d ago

It usually only takes one comment, so the bubble system is pointless for trolls.

MGRogue20174018d ago (Edited 4018d ago )

Feels good for there to finally be an official announcement of it :D

Sooo pre-ordering as soon as I'm able to, omg. :)

supremacy4018d ago

Well i guess that confirms it, i suppose while they are it they could also add the ratchet and clank hd collection and sly hd collection as well the god of war hd collection.

I would really like to see a dark cloud collection and rogue galaxy hd on the vita.

Perhaps a GTA hd collection would also be nice to have, loved vice city and certainly wouldn't mind replaying san andreas.

I am not a huge fan of all the ports, but i dont mind when it comes to ps2 classics.

Indeed it was. Naughty dog at their absolute best

MadLad905d ago

The original is still a favorite of mine, but I didn't like the dark and gritty turn they took the series.

Ratchet75905d ago

The first true next Gen game on ps2.
Before that game came out I really felt like my ps2 was not as powerful as Sony advertised it. Clearly, I was wrong
😉

Teflon02905d ago

I played Dark Cloud and NHL 2001 which were massive upgrades to PSOne and N64 titles. But I do think outside the fact I played Dark Cloud wrong and struggled to get anywhere because resource management at like 10 or 11 wasn't an ideal stress to give me lol, Jake and Daxter was the first big title I got that made me as impressed as the ritual scene opener for Dark Cloud. After those, think I got Final final fantasy X which looked godlike at the time and played spyhunter which I don't remember graphically. But the fluid essentially of Jak and Daxter running at high framerates, and coming from Conker, Banjo, DK64 and such. That game was a mega highlight and was my fav until Ratchet and Clank the next year

Terry_B905d ago

Tekken Tag Tournament was a true next gen game on PS2 and was one of its launch games.

VersusDMC905d ago

If Naughty Dog truly doesn't have an interest in Jak and Daxter they should give Ember Labs(Kena) a shot at it. I want a Jak game in their engine.

Outlawzz905d ago

Idk why they let this franchise die, ratchet and clank is still going strong

Teflon02905d ago

Probably ran it into the dirt with the dark jak stuff and didn't know how to properly bring it back. Personally hated the direction for Jak 2 and 3 while I did like 3. They should have stuck to making them like the first game but more expansive and bigger story

SonyStyled904d ago

2 and 3 were the best of the series IMO. Perfect combo of action adventure, platforming, gunplay, crude humor. The first was full of fun platforming, but lacking of the rich atmosphere and conflict the sequels had with the character the main and 2nd characters the sequels also had. “Oooh hey Jackie boy,” “hey sweet stripes, give me your digits.” Yea, I loved the crude humor of 2 and 3

yes to Resistance. Since I missed my chance on Heavenly Sword, I'd even be interested in a remaster of that.

bouzebbal2173d ago (Edited 2173d ago )

i want them to bring WipEout again.
That series is so amazing that we should have more of it.
Bring back MAG too sony.

UltraNova2173d ago

MAG 2 with a proper BR mode would do great these days. Sony is sitting on so many potential hits...

The_Jackel2173d ago

warhawk was soo much fun before mag came out

Army_of_Darkness2173d ago

I'd love a remastered trilogy of the resistance and Killzone series with enhanced visuals and framerate!

Stogz2173d ago

Absolutely, and its be nice if they included that co op mode from part 2, that was really fun.

bouzebbal2173d ago

Killzone 2 and 3 are 2 of my best ever games.
i don't think i want a remaster of these, i think we need a new episode inspired by these two.
No futuristic crap from SF..
KZ2 and 3 atmosphere was so good. SF was too shiny in comparison.

porkChop2173d ago

Resistance
The Legend of Dragoon
Syphon Filter
Socom
Twisted Metal

BlackTar1872173d ago (Edited 2173d ago )

This is a great list. I'd trade resistances for pandemonium.

Or battle arena toshiden or star gladiator

I know not all are made by Sony but great Games from ps1

notachance2173d ago

a modern Syphon Filter would be sick

G3ng4r2171d ago

Swap out legend of dragoon for seriously anything.

Godmars2902173d ago

Twisted Metal with "realistic" driving physics?

bouzebbal2173d ago

TM on PS3 was a massive flop.. people asked for it but didnt support it so no chance it will come back.
i have never been a fan of the series so i can't really judge the game cause i haven't played it on PS3.

P_Bomb2173d ago (Edited 2173d ago )

I wonder if a free-to-play Twisted Metal might be the way to go with that IP?

Tweak EatSleepPlay’s engine, slap on a Battle Royale alongside the standard MP fare, and make money the free-to-play way. Starter packs, booster packs, maps, skins, currencies, whatever. Then Sony could get another MP option out there without tacking it on to SP games.

So, keep the budget modest and expectations realistic. People might not wanna fork out $60 for car combat anymore, but they did love Rocket League. As a FTP with paid features, TM could tap into that certain demographic.

Goldby2173d ago

There's already too many BR games out or announced. We don't need more of this. We need less, alot less

FallenAngel19842173d ago

There definitely needs to be a new Ape Escape game

Also The Legend of Dragoon needs a remaster

badz1492173d ago

APE ESCAPE!!

Me and I think many others have been craving for a new entry to this series since last gen but Sony didn't do anything about it and not even now. WTF Sony? and by this I mean a full fledged campaing, not those cheap mini games collection!

gangsta_red2173d ago

I'm all for a Twisted Metal that's designed in an arena shooter type setting.

Add some actual racing modes, support it with extra tracks and vehicles over time and I think that can be Sony's next big hit.

Gazondaily2173d ago

Twisted Metal Black was the one!

gangsta_red2173d ago

Agreed, loved that game!!!
