good read, shame you could not get that head around RE1, the game does get really good, and controls are just different, after while you get used to them, i love RE1 to Re3, and all the outbreak versions, RE died when that trash 4 come out, and has continued go down hill ever since

Looking forward to Shinji Mikami’s new game, hopefully it can bring some the old horror back

When 4 first came out, I loved it, but the story is asinine. The presidents daughter is kidnapped? Really?

Anyway, Resident Evil 4 had some great parts in it. But it was the beginning of the end. It didnt have any exploration and was completely linear. I missed exploring huge mansions with keys.

Sry but resident evil 4 was awesome... It was Shinji Mikami's last game with capcom and he had 2 choices when making the game 1) to make resident evil 4 the LAST RESIDENT EVIL GAME and when capcom was gonna ended that series because it was starting to get unpopular and started to decrease in sales or 2) revitalized the game making something new and fresh. "Mikami also talks in Gamepro Issue 05/10 on Page 28 in a Vanquish interview he was under extreme pressure from Capcom with Resident Evil 4 which went with the fact they would either have to choose for a “Conclusion” or “Revival” chapter for Resident Evil with 4" I hate it when people didnt like the direction of re4 because it wasnt 1-veronica when it was a awesome game... I still have 1-veronica too love them! But seriously people have to stop saying it sucks because then you just sounds like a hipster a$$hole...

I left the bandwagon at RE4 also. I had a copy loaned to me so I didn't even have to buy it but I never finished it. RE2 was the peak for the series in my view.

RE2 was great game, loved playing both sides of the story with Leon and Claire

Maybe it's nostalgia, but I remember being actually scared playing RE1. The music, the camera angles and limited resources always had me on the edge.

With RE4, 5, and 6, it seems they moved it more to an action game, and less a survival horror game.

Sure the tank controls were clunky, but there has to be a way for the people who hold the RE reins to get that feel back.

Kratoscar20084022d ago (Edited 4022d ago )

Its not Nostalgia the PS1 era was the era were Survival Horror was about Survival and horror, now is a shadow of his former self (Extra points if you got the RE 1 reference)

kostchtchie_4022d ago

indeed, it was the whole atmosphere of the game, also after completing the game doing speed run to see if you could get the unlocks of unlimited ammo for weapons :)

resident evil 2 was my favourite. survival horror is what made the game so popular today its just another action game like so many others.

it used be a game that give a different experience now its just average.

Who cares about Resident Evil anymore? It's dead to me and has been dead since RE5.

Bethesda's new survival horror game is where it's at

Eternal Darkness was way ahead of its time especially for a Nintendo exclusive.

I would love to see a remake or sequel (multiplatform)

This Feature Makes Lethal Company Scarier Than Resident Evil

Games like Lethal Company end up scary because of their freeform nature, while Resident Evil's polish and storytelling ultimately make them rather tame in comparison. Agree or disagree?
