PS4 Updates: Potential May Reveal to Show Great Design and Support for Used Games?

Whether it's a coincidence or an upfront competitiveness, PS4 seems to be gearing up for a May reveal of the actual console, though its event may come in earlier compared to the Durango reveal that's predicted on May 21. PC Mag reports that a source that's familiar with Sony's marketing campaigns has plans for a big announcement.

This will mean that Sony will have to create its own event, if it's not pushing its big reveal at the E3 in June. If the May reveal does take place, then this can mean that the E3 may feature more specs and demonstrations for the PS4.

It can be a neck-and-neck competition on the reveal, not only with regard to the consoles' features and specs, but also with the impact that they may bring to the E3.

If anything, it does make sense for both Sony and Microsoft to reveal their next-gen consoles before the E3 event, so that they can focus on showcasing the prowess of the PS4 and Xbox 720 when it comes to games.

still if they emphasized it and said so in the press conference right before or after Durango said they didn't (not saying they will block but a man is merely doing a hypothetical) then it would really capitalize on the feature and make most of the other MS news get drowned out by that.

Everybody forgets that Sony has the tech to block used games built in to ps4 and when asked about this the following day, Yoshida said that its up to the publisher if they want to make use of the feature. just like its up to the publisher if they want always on drm on ps4. Sony arent forcing it but the console has the ability to do it and you can bet most publishers will take advantage of it.

Ubisoft already confirmed DRM for ps4, EA is already down that path. EA and Sony will block used games.. Its obvious because they are the biggest implementors of online passes. Bethesda will block used games jidging by what they have been saying.

I'm not trying to sound like I am trolling. These articles on N4G exist but people either chose to ignore them or the mods deleted them. I want to bring them to peoples attention becauseany are saying what you are, either througg naivity or just simply not knowing and when the inevitable happens I can see people either getting upset or think Sony lied. People need to be aware!

I'm pretty much already sold on buying a PS4, but I want to see more than promises if they do a 2nd event before E3. Not so much to convince me but to give us a substantial look about features to understand how the system works.

I love the idea of both companies getting all the details out of the way before E3 so the convention can focus on the games we'll be playing on the new consoles.

Sony has enough going on with the Ps4 from Gakai, to remote play from ps4 to Vita, Social services, hardware talk, games, etc... to do three more conferences and have us super hyped lol

E3 is going to be one of the best imo this year mainly because im hype about what Sony is showing
