The Pros and Cons of an Always-Online Xbox 720

IGN:

A popular rumor that refuses to die purports that Microsoft’s Xbox 360 successor – a machine which, I suspect, will simply be called “Xbox” and may be revealed on May 21 – will require an always-online Internet connection. Since we heard the first rumblings of this prospect, the gaming community’s incendiary outrage has lit up message boards, IGN comments sections, and social media alike. Is this rage justified, or is it simply a knee-jerk overreaction without the benefit of key facts?

This rumor is so 2 weeks ago, why does it keep getting approved?

Jek_Porkins4023d ago

Agreed, it isn't even the latest rumor, but it is the rumor that will still get the most views unfortunately.

Obviously you weren't here during the world format wars 5 years ago. I mean there's no way MS would release an HD-DVD add on right? Right?

This is a gaming site which deals w/ news, rumors, and mentions of rumors. That's what we do.

Until MS themselves come out and debunk all of this bad press they will have no one else to blame but themselves for "2 week old rumors" that won't die.

It keeps getting approved because iGAM3R-VIII keeps posting news like this. I think he spends all day digging for every negative article he can find on the internet that will get fanboys flaming. Sony fans on this site eat this stuff up. I called him out a few days ago about it in the comments section and he got heated and everyone who agreed with me or left a comment agreeing with me got restricted. A few hours later our comments were no longer there. I found it to be very childish of him to leave me a PM message bragging about how he got me restricted. I'm going to call him out every chance I get, it's a free country.

"I found it to be very childish of him to leave me a PM message bragging about how he got me restricted"

ummm... no I didn't

And if you do not like what I post, then don't read it, it is that simple. I post anything I see that is related to PS4, 720, Wii U, gaming consoles in general, PS3, etc. Why you ask because I even put up articles that hate any console. On N4G there is a contest and for me to win I have to submit stories which is why I find anything I lay my eyes on.

"I called him out a few days ago about it in the comments section and he got heated and everyone who agreed with me or left a comment agreeing with me got restricted."

lol no one agreed with you. It was pure disagrees.

kreate4023d ago

Agreed or disagreed.

Where is this debate?
I want to read it.

kamakaz3md4023d ago

yea this is really getting old, i doubt M$ is dumb enough to make a console always online... think of all the people who dont have internet!? millions os sales to say goodbye too. Either way, ps4 is where its at this year.

The pros of an always online xbox: Nothing
Cons: Everything

Not going read the stupid article.

maniacmayhem4023d ago

This was actually a very good article to read.

mmj4023d ago (Edited 4023d ago )

The pros listed were either weak or basically not pros at all and the cons are massive.

How about PROS & CONS of North Korea getting nuclear weapons along the same lines as this article?

PRO: Kim Jong Un is not afraid to take risks.
CON: People fear change.
PRO: You won't see the nukes coming.
CON: Death.
PRO: More and more countries are embracing nuclear energy.
CON: Hiroshima, Nagasaki, Chernobyl, Fukushima.
PRO: Kim Jong Un might not nuke us.
CON: If he does we're dead.

TMNT Arcade: Wrath of the Mutants review - Games Asylum

Games Asylum: "Well, this is neat. As the name suggests, Wrath of the Mutants is the rarest of things – a genuine arcade conversion. With most modern arcade games being ticket redemption machines, this is something seldom seen. In fact, the last arcade conversion we can recall was Raw Thrill’s own Cruis’n’ Blast on Switch back in 2021. This is also based on an older iteration of TMNT, harking back to the series from 2012-2017. It’s essentially breaking franchise continuity (we’ve had two different iterations of the Turtles since) and could even be considered nostalgic for a select few – those who grew up with 2012’s Turtles are probably in their late teens."
