Risen 3: Blazing Oceans Teased By German Multimedia Firm Dluxe Media

DSOGaming writes: "Our reader Johnny Bravo has informed us about a possible leak of the third part in the Risen series. The German multimedia firm 'Dluxe media' revealed via its Facebook page that it has scored a contract which involves the creation of the soundtrack for Risen 3: Blazing Oceans."

Honestly, I really hope so.
Risen 2 didn't really perform well. Critically or in terms of sales.
But, everything said and done, I loved the game. Even with all its flaws. It nailed the pirate setting and, if it weren't for some of the issues with the combat, it would have been an overall great game. The combat system was just too lacking in some areas. Idiotic mistakes, really. Some fixed with a patch on pc. No so for consoles.

Indeed. My biggest issue with Risen 2 was its awful combat system. There is potential for a good Risen game (like the first parts of the first Risen), so here is hoping that Piranha Bytes will deliver

They are pretty (on pc) action-roleplaying games with a big emphasis on exploration.
They are worth trying out if you think you are interested. Just be warned - if you are playing on console, the original Risen, which is only available on 360, is a mess, both visually and in terms of performance.
Risen 2, while it looks a lot nicer, is missing gameplay mechanics of the pc version. Mechanics that go a long way to improving the overall feel of the game.
Can only really recommend for pc. Maybe Risen 2 on console, if you can get it on the cheap.
