How PS4 could change Uncharted 4. 10 ways it could affect Drake’s next adventure

OPM: Sure, all those fancy new PS4 features sound good but what does it actually mean in terms of gameplay? Let's take a look at Uncharted 4 and see.

UC4 will, graphically be most amazing game ever. It will win many awards and it will be a massive reason why many people will probably get a PS4.

It won't be the most graphically amazing, maybe strictly on the new consoles, but PC games will continue to be years ahead of consoles in graphics. This doesn't really mean anything important, but it still remains true.

All those are mods like 2% of the people still playing those games use.

Sure there are a few PC games that look next gen, Skyrim and GTA IV with mods don't count as the games dont come like that and requires some tweaking and can even bug your game up more.

2%? Skyrim has a massive mod community of hundreds of thousands on PC, that is beyond false. If you want to say that modded games don't count, fine. But I will keep to my word that Uncharted 4 will not be the most graphically amazing game out there when it releases. There are games like Witcher 3 coming out soon, Battlefield 4, Crysis 3 just came out. Everyone seems to forget that these games are on PC once they touch consoles.

And mods won't harm your game if you do it intelligently by the way, it's not hard.

Bioshock infinite doesn't have BF3 powerhorse graphics but it's the most beautiful game I ever laid eyes on.

I think the ps4 specs are enough for dev to bring about enough, and everything .. the sad part is sticking with the 30 fps and 720 res instead of 1080 +60 fps.

PC runs ALL multiplatform games better than consoles, it's called frame rate and it's closer to or over 60 all the time with a good PC @ 1080p with a high end card that can keep high settings. Console games usually dip to low framerates plus have medium-low graphical settings in comparison. So having a good powerful PC doesn't mean a thing for graphics, it's all about the speed difference as well as having better graphics at the same resolution.

Plus PC has a lot of exclusives as well, it's just that some are not as well known due to the fact that console games are advertised everywhere possible. Just because something aint well known doesn't mean a thing.

Consoles max out at 2 Tflops. Highly optimized platform with specialized coding.

PC's have 4.5 Tflops unoptimized platform with more raw grunt from CPUs. Games can be optimized individually, but not all together to a set standard as they could on a console.

There are many +/- to each platform, but PC is usually the luxury platform of gaming. All Indies, Mods, Game servers that last decades, better graphics and so on.

Every console generation has shifted up 2.5x GPU power. X720 shifts up 3.4 times GPU power of X360 roughly. While PS4 shifts up 4.6 times the power of PS3 GPU. Next gen we could see 2.5x this gen or 5 times this gen's power just in the GPU. Depending on how long they stretch it out. Which means anywhere between 3.0 Tflops and 9.2 Tflops for PS5/XB1080. Which will be tremendous. On the PC we could see more than that at that time anyway. PC always has more.

Graphics are not what I'm looking forward to most next gen. I want gameplay improvements. The gunplay in Uncharted is not my cup of tea, I'd cringe each time I had to kill in UC 3.
Next Uncharted needs to work on gameplay and story events, no more life or death situations every 3 minutes, death defying stunts and close calls lose their thrill after the first 10 times.

No I don't think so, or at least I don't think they will leave Uncharted if they decide to make a new franchise at the same time. Sony won't let them I believe, Uncharted has done amazingly well in both sales and ratings. Sony won't want to let that go so soon. Also, do you mean Resistance 4? That is Insomniac, not Naughty Dog, same with Ratchet and Clank.

Naughty Dog never go past 3 games in a franchise normally do they? I hope they create a new IP with 2 sequels for PS4 and Sony gives the Uncharted IP to someone else to carry on (maybe Sony bend?)

all I want is a better gunplay ..something which both UN2,UN3 have missed imo but still acceptable. something brutal like uncharted 1 which was to me the most enjoyable in the series (in the shooting I mean) ..

The last of us looks to be better and just knowing that the main wep isn't an AK is giving me some hope. Un2 made the pistols weaker and focused on the bigger weps. I feel the addition of MP also effected the sp in major way (the hit and response thing.. you shoot someones leg but he doesn't show any pain, its like hitting a doll)

anyway I really hope tlou do something about this.

Definitely not. It was very Indiana Jones' like. Great action, great story and plot, great atmosphere. Just because it has a cover system doesn't mean it's like Gears of War.

gears of war is a unreal tournament clone but the dudes in gears run even slower and are chunkier. uncharted is nothing like that. uncharted is faster paced dudes move fast like how you want your games to control and uncharted 1 a.i is way better. uncharted is like national treasures/ indiana jones and has way better characters and story then any gears game combined not only that but uncharted has traversal gameplay you can climb, jump, dodge, hang, shoot while hanging on ledges and use the enviroment and its items which is why people loved uncharted 2 mp so much because its so fluid and fast and you can do so much. you know that dude from live free or die hard that was jumping and climbing and hanging from the pipes before bruce willis knocked him in the the grinders in the freezer or that dude from 007 casino royal that was doing all the parkour jumping and stuff at the start of the movie. that is what you can do in uncharted and its masterful. gears is crap in comparison.

If Naughty Dog continues with one more Uncharted game, hopefully they will make one or two more games, then work on Uncharted 4.

Uncharted 3 has the best sand in any games (PC games included). An Uncharted on a PS4 will crush every competition in the graphics department.

I have played and enjoyed all the UC games.Just finished Tomb Raider.Thought there were things about it the were a lot better then any of the UCed.Hope ND meets the challenge on their next UC.
