While we all lament the closing of LucasArts, the games that everyone loves and adores were released many, many years ago. While the projects they were working on before the axe fell looked interesting, most of them were probably nowhere near being done.
Now that Disney will be licensing all the properties out, the future does look promising. For example, Tim Schafer could possibly make another Monkey Island game, Naughty Dog could do a proper Indiana Jones game, etc. (These are just random examples)
There’s a reason that mouse wares gloves, so to not leave any fingerprints after he's f~~ked something......, as in Lucasarts which now lies dead and abused in a gutter.
i don't believe Disney "closed" Lucasarts per se. the reports said, Disney will only restructure what Lucasarts as a company is doing. so basically, they removed the in-house development part, and focused mainly on the licensing of its properties, which means they get to license other devs to do the development of games.
still sad though, as it meant people losing jobs.
