Just to clarify:

"Bungie appears to be aware of the criticism the game's visuals received and has assured that the game will look "awesome" regardless of whether it's playing on the PlayStation 4, next-gen Xbox, PS3, or Xbox 360."

I actually thought the 6 seconds or so of footage we've seeen which I assume was PC looked really good when you consider this is a form of MMO. I'm dubbing it a persistent co-op driven competitive massively multiplayer online role playing game first person shooter. Or PCODCMMORPGFPS for short.

Skate-AK4029d ago

PCODCMMORPGFPS just rolls off the tongue.

Blacklash934022d ago

I agree. I don't think the writer entirely understands what kind of game this is and what that means. Of course some of the environments will look sparse if there's not the multitudes of online players present. Not to mention the game is far from complete.

It looked good, especially for a console game of this type.

One of my asian friends is a die hard 360 fan but he also loves diablo & world of warcraft on pc. I showed him dc universe online for the ps3 and he said he loved it on pc but wasnt many ppl playing it on pc. I havent played it for months now but he bought a ps3 just for that game. He said there are alot more ppl on the ps3 version & the crazy thing is he use to hate uncharted aswell but bought it anyway off curiosity to see why ps3 fanboys love it so much & he got hooked and said he plays uncharted 3 & dc universe online all the time now. I told him, "I told u if u give the ps3 a chance u will fall in love with it for its amazing exclusives".

Cant wait to buy this on the ps4, should be an awesome mmo.

spicelicka4029d ago

I'm sorry but I don't see what your story has to do with this game or ps3 exclusives. Ps3 fanboys say the same thing about halo and gears, that's just how fanboys are.

This game looks good enough, im sure by the time ps4/next xbox come out itll look more awesome.

sandman2244029d ago

Of course they're going to say that. After all they are making the game. I know if I was developing a game I wouldn't say it's going to look okay. I'd be like, it's a crysis 3 on ultra PC killer. That would sell a ton of copies. I'm sure it will look great. I thought the early footage looked good.

Destiny Made Over $160 Million In Microtransaction Revenue In Less Than 2 Years

Destiny has made over $160 million in MTX revenue, and these numbers only account the data from late 2017 to early 2019.

Sgt_Slaughter330d ago

That's extremely low for microtransactions, especially for a game that's essentially designed around it

LucasRuinedChildhood330d ago (Edited 330d ago )

This was back when the game wasn't free to play.

The figures are from November 2017 to February 2019 (1 year and 4 months).

Based on that projection, the MTX revenue for Destiny 2 likely would have been closer to ~$240m for 2 years.

Not sure if premium expansions are included in that figure either although ... I'd hope that they are though and that most of the revenue was for actual content like Forsaken.

People spend way too much money on cosmetics.

Rude-ro330d ago (Edited 330d ago )

Seasons($10 and just got bumped to $12) and dungeon keys($10 each, two a year) are through the eververse(micro transaction) store.
So for those two years, in order to play a season, you would pay through micro transactions.

Sonic1881330d ago (Edited 330d ago )

Bungie Marathon will be worse since it's designed around it as well

Kurt Russell330d ago

It makes me sad to agree... but at the same time I am looking forward to giving it a go. Destiny 2 is so far in, I find it difficult to figure out what I am meant to do first.

buffig330d ago

I think FIFA alone makes over $1bn a year from mtx

anast330d ago

FIFA promotes a worldwide sport. It should make more money than destiny.

CantThinkOfAUsername330d ago (Edited 330d ago )

Let's compare something similar. Apex Legends and its ridiculous $18/$40 skins make EA a billion each year.

z2g330d ago

For as much as ppl complain how much they hate microtransactions, they sure don’t act like it. No wonder they aren’t going anywhere.

spicelicka330d ago

By "people" you're referring to millions and millions of people. Obviously the ones complaining aren't necessarily the same as the ones spending all that money.

There's millions that purchase MTX and there's nothing we can do about it

I've been thinking about playing through D1 again before it goes away...

CobraKai481d ago

That’s the sad reality of a game like this. I bought it, invested lots of money, and it can go away at anytime. I still think this was more fun than 2.

jeromeface480d ago

prob because 2 is a grindfest slog

spoonard478d ago

That's the bummer of 'games as a service'.
