Nvidia’s Project Shield on schedule for Q2 release, but details scarce

If they can get it to work over wifi while I'm not home I could see myself using it, but I don't see the point in playing my PC on a small screen in another room...with a controller.

Since this is a portable gaming device, maybe you should be asking yourself how will you get your desktop + monitor to work while in your car or on the go in general.

It streams a PC game from your desktop over your home wifi-network only.

It also can play Android games, Wooo Angry Birds with a controller!

If Nvidia can integrate their GRID system into this then I'll consider buying it.

Guys isnt this the same company that said Investing in a game console is not worth it?? A gaming handheld is still a console. Well see how they will fare better than the PS vita. Of course they will Brag about the hardware powering the nvidia shield. And power doesnt come cheap. It will be more expensive than a ps vita since it has more latest tech in it.

Nit picking. Its pretty much just a PC accessory with android support. And i wouldnt confirm it would be more expensive than a Vita, Between a vita and the memory card its like $300. A nexus 7, tegra 3 tablet with 32 gb of memory only costs $200 (launched at this price years ago), Nvidia, could easily make this as cheap as a vita, or cheaper.

The TegraZone is going to need to have some good games in order for this thing to take off. While I think Project Shield is a cool product, but I'd rather use my PSP, or a Playstation Vita. Samsung has a pretty cool controller that they're making for their galaxy phones, which I would also use before buying one of these.

Sony has also made a firmware upgrade to allow the use of a DS3 on all Xperia phones and Tablets, so in this case use an Xperia phone, but Sony needs to come out with a clip so that you can connect the DS3 to you Xperia phone, kind of like Game Clip.
