"There has been a lot of speculation about the next generation of Xbox. The rumored methods that the next Xbox will apply to used games must have Gamestop feeling a bit like Damocles, and has many consumers who are unable (or unwilling) to pay full retail price for games in a state of disappointment and despair. This, while anti-consumer and very frustrating, is at the very least not preventing the console from playing retail purchased content. Now, the all but confirmed mandatory Internet connection for basic console operation? That’s a bit of a different story."

You say "yet" as if it's even possible anymore. United Front Games is gone, along with anyone that made this game what it is
That’s what happens when games sell poorly. And I’ve seen people wonder why people cry when a game sells badly… this is your answer.
Sleeping Dogs was a sleeper hit back then. It was fantastic. It actually still is. Would love a sequel to this, or at least a revive of True Crime series.
Lord of the Rings: Battle for Middle-earth II was an intriguing and unique RTS title, that sadly suffered in its console port.
Was just thinking about this game and wishing I had a way to revisit it. The way EA scrubs these titles from existence once their licensing runs out is horrid.
Clive actor Ben Starr plays kiss, marry, kill with Final Fantasy characters, and decides to off Cid from Final Fantasy 12.
Ew VO actors and their cringe core. Fiverr voice actors could out perform this chump.
I agree with the article. And if M$ goes through with this, then I will deal with it. By getting a ps4.
-_- This all is creating a huge media hoopla. This sounds to bad/or stupid to be true...but who knows maybe its just a big charade to make MS seem like angels with Halos (pun intended) around their heads when They announce the xbox 720 is not always online. But MS might go ahead with this crazy idea.
Oh I'll deal with it alright. If this turns out to be true MS won't be seing my money.
What do they benefit from an always online console? I just don't get it. Who knows the number of problems that could arise from this.
Hell right now I can't make a new Mass Effect 2 game without going offline because it takes me back to the title screen when Im almost done importing because apparently I signed out, and it only stops when I go offline and turn it back on afterwards.
Yeah that's a pretty unique problem but it's a problem nevertheless that could arise next Gen for some other game and then you can't play it. A more common problem would be how SimCity and Diablo 3 were originally handled. There is just too many downsides compared to upsides (I can't even think of any, if there are, comment and enlighten me)
I can tell that "Always On" will be in the next Xbox that's fine as long as its not mandatory. I repeat, NOT mandatory.
And if it is mandatory MS will have free online function. And if they don't, then I'm afraid I will pass on the new Xbox until MS gets its act together.
That's if the going gets tough though.
