I haven't been this excited for a fighting game in so long! Looking forward to this :)

Boody-Bandit4032d ago

Me too. I might actually pick up the collectors edition and I have never done that before with any game. The only thing missing from this game is a finishing move. The super moves are cool but even when you finish a match with them they are the same as if you used them mid match.

It's an excellent first attempt from Neatherealm.

I was thinking of getting the collectors edition too which I also never do except for The Last of Us, but the statue of Wonder Woman and Batman looks great! NetherRealm did a great job with this game even the mini games look like a ton of fun maybe they can make a Marvel vs. DC game next :)

Its an ok fighter, it plays alot like dc vs mk.

I felt like you had to be quite close to the other player to land a punch or kick.

on the plus side, I did enjoy the transitions.

The story is good but a bit short easily done in a night.

I havent got into the minigames and challenge matches yet, but it looks like theres tons of them.

ummm it plays nothing like dc vs mk bro

They really mean they are pivoting to slot machines on mobile devices.

I don’t think there ever was a time for GaaS. Its entire resistance is revolved around making a game that generates recurring revenue constantly throughout its lifetime. It’s straight up a corporate scumbag design.

I watched the video seeing if anything changed since the initial Suicide gameplay vid before the delay and it looks the same. So weird watching all the characters just start a gun to their back and bounce super high shooting with no kick-back animation in an empty dead world. The voice acting is cringe and there doesn’t have any sense of atmosphere or immersion like the Arkham games.

And they expect you to pay $70 to $100 for this and then pay more for Battle Passes and items to make grinding less a chore. Yea, no thank you. I hope you learn a hard lesson with this one.

Genius executives at work. "hey, what we're doing is working great. Let's change it."

LOGICWINS167d ago

"Invasions" is technically free live service game with new content every 45 days. It's the best mode MK has ever had IMO. As a single player gamer, it gives me a reason to stick around after the story mode.

You have a terrible taste in games

-Foxtrot167d ago

I feel like their whole approach relies on how the Suicide Squad sells

Oh great, looking forward to the sh*t future of gaming. Thanks industry!

PunksOnN4G167d ago

New mk sold less then the last in the same time frame the NEW MK is legit a live service game with its horrible monopoly board. I just wanted a normal title...

FatalityX77167d ago

It's not on older hardware, so that's why it seems less. No ps4/xbox one versions.

Sgt_Slaughter167d ago

I doubt older hardware would make a difference, given the ratios of sales of other multi-gen games

PunksOnN4G167d ago

Nah the new MK full of live service shit even the singleplayer monopoly board they gave use instead of a normal kyrpt says enough and sales reflect that also this MK is very combo heavy it not noob friendly what's so ever like others

Flewid638166d ago

Wasn't the last one a live service game?

MehmetAlperTR166d ago

More live services.. LOL.. i hope you ll see the deep.

Ed Boon responds to the NRS animation discourse online

Within the dynamic realm of interactive gaming, NetherRealm Studios (NRS) stands as a source of both excitement and contention, with discussions spanning visual aesthetics and kinetic animations. Since the debuts of Injustice 2 and Mortal Kombat 11, the studio’s visual evolution has been nothing short of remarkable. An evolution that becomes most apparent in the refined portrayal of character facial models, enhancing both their visual appeal and their ability to authentically render the intricacies of Black skin across various lighting conditions. However, in the midst of this progress, one aspect remains a challenge—the attack animations—an ongoing Achilles’ heel within the domain of NRS games.

My personal opinion would be that they focused less on juggles and more on grounded combos so sticking out a poke and it continues to juggle an airborne enemy should go away. It just looks silly. I love MK and Tekken, but this aspect has always been silly to me. It still has some great looking combos, but the air juggles just makes the animations reset, making those specific combos look stiff.

SF has some of these air juggles, but not nearly as much. I'd much prefer their combos combos which are generally more grounded. I don't think the animations are bad in MK in any way, it's the way they are implemented in gameplay in the juggle state.

MK1 is still a day one for me, but fixing this issue would make a lot of people complain less about MK1's animations.
