I Lost My Mass Effect Save, So I Gave Up On Finishing The Series

Kotaku - I used to feel like a Mass Effect fan. Like part of that community that gushed about their crush on Garrus, or commiserated over those lengthy elevator rides. I used to talk strategies and relationships and dialogue tree options with fellow fans, scrutinizing decisions with one another and theorizing about what would happen next. Even just comparing Shepards. Are you Paragon or are you Renegade?

I lost my 100%'d saves for both ME 1 and ME 2 that I've crafted over the course of a week in one day thanks to some retarded problem with Xbox Live. Then I crafted another perfect save for each game while Mass Effect 3 box sitted in front of me for the course of 3-4 days as I played...

The funny thing is; I ended up hating ME 3 anyway so all of that effort was for nothing.

tl;dr Kotaku writers are acting like crybabies again. Move on people.

i know it didn't end right but its still one of the better trilogies in gaming, and a series which ends after 3rd instead of having useless prequels

I had completed 2&3 before the 1st one arrived on the ps3, sold them and got the whole trilogy, its true you can't experience the whole saga without playing the first, and I'm playing 3 again now with the new dlc.

Meh given the poor regards of the series and especially the 3rd game about your choices , it was a bad decision in restrospect to drop the final act

I've never heard of this problem. Just searched google, could not find a thing. I know there were issues with importing, and even the "black hole" glitch, but this is just weird.

The only thing I can say is to always, always, always, back up your saves.

I lost 40 hours of time in ME2 on ps3 because the game froze on me during an autosave AND THEN another 35 because of a corrupt hard drive. I actually tried backing up the save file for it and some other games before but the file wouldn't copy to usb. The industry just needs to go back to cartridges :]

I accidentally deleted my ME2 100% save and i didn't wanna start ME3 without it, so basically ME3 collectors edition has been sitting on my shelf since release day.

I have the platinum for ME2 witch i had to complete the game 2.5 times to get and there's no way im doing it again, there's also no way im gonna play ME3 without it

people are shitting all over this article, but its what both you and this article are saying is totally understandable. I am 2 trophies away from uncharted 2 plat, but i lost my save a while back. the problem is the GAU trophy opportunity comes pretty late in the game. not playing UC3 till i get that platinum, only i havent touched uc2 in over a year or so.

cant imagine what its like to lose 100% data on a much bigger game like ME.

Years ago, my PS1 & PS2 memory card died and i've lost all of my save. I got a bit depressed when i must replay all of my games again (Vagrant Story, Xenogears, Xenosaga, KH, Dark Cloud, Front Mission 3-4, Onimusha, MGS, etc etc) cause i've spent hundreds, maybe thousands of hours for them. But that's not stop me to replay and finish them again.

You didn't miss much. I quit ME3 about 5 hours in because it was a boring mess. I loved ME2 but ME1 was clunky and ME3 is soulless.
