This article is foolish. It takes a situation where one local tv station runs a story on basically 'omg girls are gamers too' and extrapolates it to the entire world and gaming industry. I wouldn't even bother reading it if I were you, it's crap.

All it means is the media had a slow day of news, so they just threw some crap out. Normal people can care less who the hell plays games and who doesnt. Most people who play games are males.
