The PlayStation Vita’s user interface has never been quite the perfect specimen we wanted it to be, and one of the most glaring omissions (aside from some anti-aliasing, if you want to really geek out) is the ability to put games and apps into folders, something the 3DS has offered for a while.
Well, that might be about to change, as SCEE’s Fred Dutton has hinted that there might be a firmware update soon to address this issue.
Sony has recruited Bungie's head of revenue Jaremy Rich to head up its live-service gaming division, Rich has announced on social media.
Please do not put Destiny’s monetization into Sony’s first party games. The monetization is what’s driving players away from Destiny.
I mean, this person made some pretty bad decisions at Bungie. I hope they've learned from them because I definitely don't see those type of ideas as good for PlaySation in general.
Ps5 gamers in 2023 seemed to play more live service types of games, so regardless to how people feel about them, numbers don’t lie and Sony is going where the money is. I mean look at the excitement around Helldivers2, people are showing that they want live service games.
How do you kill a franchise that already been killed?
Destiny’s grind, cash-in-on-playbass-cha-Ching, and pop-culture-insertion mainstream-me-too bs totally killed any rep Bungie had. Sony/Bungie, if you are doing this to ward-off players, it’s already working.
Sony has patented to add multiple dialogue modes to let players switch between how many conversations with NPCs they want in the game.
Sony is like the only ones outta the 3 that has atuff like like this pop up changing thing in ways.
Genuine Enabling Technology was seeking damages, claiming the tech allowing PlayStation consoles and controllers to communicate infringes its rights.
Sounds like patent trolling they tried the same thing against Nintendo with the same pattern.
Motion and control input traversing over higher and lower frequencies seperate from each other allowing the controller to do both
So to recoup the money Genuine is going to take on Nintendo or Microsoft next. I hate patent lawyers they are some of the worst bottom feeders out there.
It would be a most welcomed update if true. Frankly, it should have been there day one. It's very sloppy to have pages and pages and pages of content to swipe through.
Hopefully it's true and hopefully it comes out really soon.
One thing I've always liked about the 3DS is that on the main page there's that little button that lets you adjust how many icons are displayed on the main screen. You can make it like the original one-row menu like the DSi, or you can shrink the icons so all of them show up on one screen.
I wish Vita had something similar. This rumor, if true, would be a step in the right direction.
Oh god, this update might save layouts!? I would take the memory cards saving layouts over folders ANY day. Then I could actually use a Japanese account for my other 8 GB card that has just been useless since I bought it. I didn't want to spend 30 minutes reorganizing all my crud after switching out every time. That was a pain in the butt...
Should've been a day one feature.
To think, the PS3 STILL doesn't have an option to sort games by Alphabetical order. Get on it Sony!!
I do hope that new update also meant we'll be able to swap memory cards without changing resetting the whole vita. The guy who got the reply asked for folders and that too.
