Top 6 Sega Genesis Games Of All Time

Non-Fiction Gaming writer The MacWha is at it again with a top 6 list. This time going back to the SEGA Genesis in all its glory. Plus, by popular demand Aladdin makes an appearance.

Genesis was way ahead of its time. It had games like Shining Force I and II years before FF:Tactics came out. It had games like Phantasy Star, which was one of the first RPGs to go for realistic style and also it was sci-fi. I love me some SEGA.

K so those games are good but here is no way you can have just a top 6.

There are about 20-30 games all at the same or near the same level.

After that there are another 20-30 games around their same level just slightly below the first batch.

at top 6, your really leaving out some true classic gems.

I would also like to mention Castle of Illusion and World of Illusions. Both were fantastically unique Disney games with which I attribute lots of fond memories having played over and over again as a child. Also, I remember Quack Shot being really great too, but then again, I have not gone back to play it in over 20 years, and I'm not sure I'd want to for fear of ruining what I remember of it.

And on another note--where in the F*#$% is General Chaos on this list?! Unacceptable.

I replayed Quaqshot 2 or 3 months ago and I had more fun with it than with 99% games i played this gen. I love everything about that game.

Toe Jame & Earl: Panic On Funkotron, Jurassic Park, General Chaos, Kid Chameleon, and some others that I'm probably blanking on right now would also be in my top favorites. Although, it's VERY difficult to place some of these...there were just SO SO many incredible games back then!

I'm surprised he put Streets of Rage 3 (series in brackets) instead of 2; there's certain things 2 had that I wish carried over to 3. Sonic 2 is another that made the list but not Sonic 3 and Knuckles. Super Street Fighter 2 on Genesis I felt was better than the SNES version; it's the only version to date with all 16 people to fight instead of just 12, and yes that even includes the arcade version.

Besides maybe sonic 2 no game on that list should be ahead of street fighter realistically. Like come on your putting mindless beat em ups ahead of the greatest fighting game ever
