Skipping A Generation: What We Missed This Console Cycle

Sometimes genetic traits skip a generation. The same goes for video games. These are the games that decided to sit this generation out, but we'd like to see make a return for the PlayStation 4 and the next Xbox.

Story is retarded from the get go.

If Ape Escape skipped a generation then what is this https://store.sonyentertain... (For those who can't access AU PS Store, its the Ape Escape move from 2011)

Root4036d ago

Yeah I wouldn't really class that as a Ape Escape game...well I mean not the Ape Escape we wanted anyway.

Donnieboi4035d ago (Edited 4035d ago )

Lol that party game trash version of Ape Escape is just as much a legitimate sequel in the cannon series, as Mario Party is to a REAL Super Mario bros game, or calling Pokemon Snap a legit sequel to the Pokemon Jrpg type games.

That "Ape Escape" game u point out was not a real A.E. game, and it sucked at that. It was an on-rails party game. And it sucked.

Game Informer magazine > some random dude on n4g who probably never even played the game.

beakeroo14035d ago

So the game named Ape Escape that features all of the characters isn't actually Ape Escape? OK, got it.

I want a new Viewtiful Joe game.

MikEyG4036d ago (Edited 4036d ago )

OFF TOPIC

I once played viewtiful joe while tripping on mushrooms, CRAZY stuff.

Rusty5154036d ago

If were counting only home consoles...kingdom hearts comes to mind...

DEATHxTHExKIDx4036d ago

I was thinking the very same. But the Handheld titles kept me going.

Root4036d ago

We missed an actual Final Fantasy game and an actual Resident Evil game this gen

Those things which came out don't even deserve to be called FF or RE.

dungeonboss4036d ago

Haha, I 100% agree with RE, 75% agree with FF, at least we got a lot of pretty cut scenes!

Hicken4036d ago

Speak for yourself; while it may not be the best- VII doesn't have that honor, either, in my eyes- XIII is still a solid title.

El Shaddai: Ascension of the Metatron - Coming Back for a New Generation

Originally launched in 2011, El Shaddai: Ascension of the Metatron is coming to Nintendo Switch, so It's time to look back at the original.

Still have my ps3 copies. Bought it at launch and another one when I found it cheap and in perfect condition about 10 years ago. I wouldn’t buy it on Switch but if they made a PS5 version I would. I still have one of my PS3 Fats hooked up so good to go either way.

darthv7210h ago

Id play it again on the switch. I wished my 360 version was bc but this is still a good way to play.

Fallout 3's Reveal Led To Death Threats And Bethesda's First Security Guard

The artist behind Fallout 4’s Deathclaw reveals just how bad things got back when Bethesda took over the series

anast12h ago

People are stupid I get it. No one should feel unsafe,

But I think they need to talk about why they cut so many corners during the development process and why none of their games ever look current. And why they think all of this is okay while they charge full price.

LucasRuinedChildhood11h ago

As much as Bethesda deserve criticism, that's not really relevant to the reveal of Fallout 3 in 2007.

VenomUK8h ago

The default angle Kotaku always go for is to highlight the worst in gaming.

I would’ve focused on the creative.

gold_drake7h ago

there is no "but". the hell lol
you dont send death threats, period.
