PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale Round 2 DLC Impressions

"The second wave of DLC for All Stars includes Isaac Clarke (Dead Space), Zeus (God of War), and a new stage called The Graveyard. This time both characters are no longer free and cost $4.99 each, that is unless you bought God of War: Ascension. The new stage is still free to play online, but will cost you $1.99 and this time there is no trophies for any of the new content which is a shame. Still the big question remains, is any of this DLC worth buying for fans who still play All Stars?"

The fact that the game released with so little content compared to it's competitors was disappointing enough.

But now we're being charged a silly price for such small amounts of DLC.. A single character for $4.99? Crackers. Bad management. They aren't helping themselves.

sjaakiejj4038d ago

$5,00 per character is just too much. You should get the stage and the characters for that money, and even then I'm not sure if it'd be worth the investment.

Tonester9254038d ago

Well, MK DLC Characters were $5, BlazBlue $8 a character, SFvTK was $5 as well

pixelsword4031d ago

Yeah, and that's why not many people are playing now.

In two months time, the magnificent SSB4 will be announced to put this pathetic game out of its misery. Such is the faith of cheap clones. NINTENDO 4 LYFE!!!!!

Dj7FairyTail4037d ago

indeed. I sad that when Smash Bros. Wii U and 3DS is shown at E3 in a Trailer. I am not going even play this game much. I'm gonna do some Brawl and 64 madness on Wii U.

It's completely obvious we're not getting anymore characters. The costumes are probably the last DLC because they've been very quite. Back when SB was in charge, they told us straight up who the next characters were and if there weren't anymore. They always kept us updated on everything, SSM hasn't at all.

Though PlayStation All Stars Battle Royale is a bit of a cult classic, it could have been a big hit if it launched in 2022 instead of 2012.

It wouldn't have mattered, Sony would've rushed it out and left it to die. More so now than before with their focus now being on SP narrative driven AAA games.

CrimsonWing69520d ago

Oh, but somehow Smash Bros. 64 made it work?

It just couldn’t compete with Smash Bros. and it wasn’t a free-to-play game like Multiversus.

PapaBop520d ago

I think it released at the right time. It's just after the success of Smash and Multiversus, it's finally time for a sequel.

spoonard520d ago

I'd be all in on a remake or remaster of the original. I enjoyed it because I didn't sit there and compare every aspect to SSB. I just enjoyed it as it was.

Magatsuhi520d ago

Sony should make part 2 and dump a good amount of money on it. Scrap super only kills and it's bound to succeed.

Father__Merrin520d ago

Yes the power kills spoilt it completely WTH was they thinking you should have hp bar that's it

God of War: Ragnarok Weirdly Makes PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale Canon

God of War: Ragnarok has plenty of fun references to PlayStation history, but now fans have discovered a conversation that calls back to PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale — the crossover fighting game released for the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita.

Nyxus527d ago

I wouldn't say canon. More like an easter egg.

Deathdeliverer526d ago

That’s interesting. It actually does make it canon lol. He mentioned it in a mainline game. I’d say that’s pretty cool.
