Should have never canceled Green Lantern:TAS and Young Justice only reasons cartoon network was still relevant.

ARGH! Just as I started to get over the crazy leap that they made with the story and enjoyed where they were going....BOOM! Cancelled!

Wolverine and the X-men...cancelled!
Avengers Assemble...cancelled!
Every good superhero cartoon gets cancelled in 2 seasons.

And yet "The Batman" made it to 5. Yech.

At least in the 90s, Batman/Superman:TAS were around for a good long time.

Spectacular Spider-man was also canned after two seasons which was a bummer. Ultimate should have been better, but... well, you probably know what I mean.

I didn't mind The Batman. It was okay as far as a show that was trying its hardest to be a new Batman TAS. Nothing great, but I didn't hate it either.

With Batman TAS (or rather DC Animated Universe) you can argue existed for almost a decade since it, Superman TAS, Batman Beyond, Justice League and Justice League Unlimited were all part of the same canon.

I couldn't stand all of the puns in The Batman. Robin and Batgirl lines could just be unbearable. To make it worse, they always extended it with what was basically an electronic "BUM-DUM-TISH" and Batman "giving them the look". That was somehow supposed to be funny 10 times per episode. And the designs could be awful at times. Like the characters with kite-shaped heads....there's nothing visually pleasant about a rhombus head.

And I love the extended stuff like Justice League and Batman Beyond. Beyond finally made it on Netflix, too. Started rewatching it today.

Wtf, I didn't know young justice was cancelled, I really like that show.

PopRocks3594036d ago

This show is extremely solid. A very faithful counterpart from Teen Titans (which was an alright show in its own quarky way). I wonder if this RPG would be any good? License tie-in games have their reputation and all, but I'd really like for this to be good.

SilentNegotiator4036d ago

Except they're bringing back Teen Titans, but with like, just the over the top anime style bits, and they're making a 3D batman where he faces bad guys that look like Star Fox villains and Alfred is a badass. *GAG*

PopRocks3594036d ago

The new TT show looks okay. The shorts they made in that style were cute.

As for "Beware the Batman," it looks terrible IMO. Maybe it can surprise me like Brave and the Bold did, but I doubt it. I'll stick with Young Justice until that show runs its course.

I got this strange feeling they aren't gonna do this game right.

I was hoping to see Arkham Origin in the sale.

Arkam Asylum and Arkham City for $5 a piece is an absolute steal if you've never played those games. Even if you're not a fan of Batman (how could you not be?), they're still good games.

harrisk9543563d ago

Arkham City for free (on PS+) is an even better deal. ;)

Volkama3563d ago

Debatable. Paying for a rental isn't directly comparible to buying a game.

CorndogBurglar3563d ago

@ volkama

I'm sorry, I don't remember ever having to give back any of my free PS+ games.

Volkama3563d ago

CorndogBurglar, I'm all for rental services and such. I don't personally care for ownership of games and I don't plan to drop my subscriptions.

I am just pointing out that it isn't so cut and dry as to which is the better value deal, because "Arkham City for free" is a bit of a falacy.

Personally I would LOVE for the consoles to have a all-access subscription packages to play whatever you want (ie a games equivalent of netflix and such). I'd pay a lot for that.

mcstorm3563d ago

@CorndogBurglar what he means is if you stop paying for PS+ you lose your PS+ games which means you are paying to rent them just like you do if you have a Prime or Netflix account.

Some good deals in there too nice to see Microsoft offer the discount for Gold now and I hope we start to see more and more on the xbox one soon too.

If you really want Batman games on the cheap

Sony has a nice deal going on right now
https://store.sonyentertain...

Batman AA, Batman Origin, Batman Origins Blackgate all for $4.20 each.

neil3633563d ago

Aye, a bit disappointing to see just the Origins Season Pass in there. The game would have been nice.

Agree totally on Asylum and City....loved them both.

optimus3563d ago

Glad they threw in the Injustice season pass. Now i can dust it off and put a few hours back into it.

oKidUKo3563d ago

Looks like there's a few more now, will be getting Raven episodes. They're at a decent price.

Volkama3563d ago (Edited 3563d ago )

Some good deals there. Maybe if I wait long enough I will be able to get decent games for decent prices on the Xbox One and PS4 as well. It isn't like they become less fun a year or two down the line.

Young Justice: Legacy Review (GodisaGeek)

Posted by James Bowden

Over the past couple of years I’ve taken the Warner Bros name to be one of quality when it comes to video games. Warner Bros have ensured that Batman found the games he deserved in the form of the Arkham series, they whipped NetherRealm back into shape for Mortal Kombat and Injustice, and they’ve produced plenty of other nice titles too, such as the ever entertaining Scribblenauts. A strong position indeed for a name more commonly associated with motion pictures.
