Will you give a crap about Battlefield 4′s campaign?

As a now seasoned Battlefield aficionado, having logged in well over a thousand hours across the last two iterations, the Battlefield experience has always been about the multiplayer with the single-player a mere momentary distraction. That was until Battlefield 4 made jaws drop last week. Can this change in direction lead gamers to care as much for the campaign as they do the multiplayer elements?

Yes. I enjoy a campaign mode to most games, if not all. Sure B4 will be all about the MP but I enjoy a good shoot out offline, before the main event of MP.

i will clear it but will have zero expectation, been playing BF since the bf1942 beta(yep, even before the wake island demo) and will always trust DICE blindly for my 32 vs 32 battlefield fix

My friend and I played the crap out of the bf1942 wake demo. I didn't know there was a public beta before that.

Favorite times of that demo were joining opposite teams, flying over the airstrip and swapping planes mid air. That game had great mechanics that I've yet to see in games since.

Awesome demos too. I played the wake demo for months without buying the real game, same with BF2. Mostly because I was a kid in highschool with no money but hey, their demo's used to be great.

BF3's campaign was very throw-away, but this campaign looks a LOT better. So, I'll try it out. :)

Heh, apart from the carrier mission I can't remember much about the BF3 campaign, I might play through it again at the weekend. They really need to make this co-op or attach some unlockables to the campaign like they do with Gears and Halo, the co-op in BF3 was pretty wishy washy but it would have been fun to have those missions in the campaign.

since i tasted Killzone 3 with Move all other FPS without move support feel very stiff no matter how enjoyable they are.
i am wishing for move support with BF4, could be a nice feature like BioShock Infinite

Anyways, Im actually looking forward to BF4's campaign seeing as they probably learned from the crap that BF3's campaign.

Based on the latest BF4 17min gameplay, looks to be a way promising campaign. What with seems to be open ended levels, better destruction, some strategy by deploying orders to team members and hopefully less QTEs. I do hope they give a voice to character we're using. It doesnt make sense that a military soldier im controlling doesnt scream or shot or say anything.

Probably not, ill give it a go at somepoint im sure! I got bf3 at release and only recently tried the campaign, but i probably wont see it through as its not what im after at the moment

Battlefield is the only competetive fps i play lately so if thats improved on im happy

I doubt very much that I will. From what's been shown in the 17 minute trailer it seems DICE has learned nothing from the criticisms of BF3's SP campaign. It's bombastic, beautiful and utterly soulless.

If I ever get BF4, it'll be purely for the MP.

Honestly if they take the chance to add jet missions and what not then it will be more interesting and a good way for beginners to learn how to fly the jet and use tanks ect

Yes, I didn't hate BF3's single player although I don't think it was great. SP is the foreplay for the multiplayer for me ;)

I dunno. I might mess with the campaign for a bit for the achievements, but it definitely won't be the first thing I do when I get the game, that's for sure.

To be honest, if they scrapped the campaign and used that extra space for MP, I wouldn't be bummed at all.

While most people who play Battlefield do for the multiplayer (count me as one), there are a significant amount of people who don't hook their systems up to the internet and play only the single player. DICE has to try and make a compelling reason for them to pick up Bf4 and play.
