Hell yes! I'm really excited to pick this one up with all the good things I've heard about it. :]

dedicatedtogamers4033d ago

It's about time!

Just like last gen, JRPG fans are finding paradise on the handheld systems.

Yeah, we're getting Bravely Default, have Fire Emblem, Kingdom Hearts, and SMT4 on 3DS. As well as Atelier series, Persona 4 Golden, Soul Sacrifice, and later on Ys Celceta for the Vita.

Though both the Wii and PS3 have gotten some good ones as well lately. Last Story, Xenoblade, Tales of Graces f, Ni No Kuni, etc.

I'm glad we've been getting a lot of JRPG love these last two or so years... It wasn't looking good for a while there.

@Snookies12

I know what you mean.

This gen got off to an awful start. Most of the JRPGs released from 2006-2010 were either very average to awful or didn't get localized. It's not that good JRPGs weren't being made, it's just that the best ones almost never made it over or if they did, there were massive delays like in Ni No Kuni's and Xenoblade's case.

In related news I am so glad Squeenix demoted Wada. That dumbass is most responsible for this drought.

Awesome!!! Got one more reason to get my 3ds.

AWBrawler4033d ago

Oh hell yeah! (In stone cold voice)

majiebeast4033d ago

Still waiting on type 0 Square enix. Great news for 3DS owners but give us vita owners some of that same love.

chadboban4033d ago

Yes! Yes! YES!! 3DS is a freaking monster this year!

Seems like the JRPG really is alive and well, we already got Ni No Kuni, Entrian Odyssey IV, Fire Emblem (well technically it's an SJRPG) and we have Shin Megami Tensei IV, Rune Factory IV, Soul Hackers, Project X Zone (technically a SJRPG as well),Pokemon X and Y not to mention the possibility of seeing Dark Souls 2 and Versus XIII. Damn 2013 is gonna be one of gaming's best years ever!

Where can players go after Octopath Traveler

Octopath Traveler really blew up, didn’t it? The Nintendo Switch exclusive became a top eShop seller after launch and physical copies were so rare, Square Enix was issuing apologies and asking people to please consider a digital copy if they could not wait. It is a fun RPG to spend 40 to 60 hours playing. But, what if [a player has] already finished the game? What if [they] are ready to follow some new stories?

You aren't finishing this game in 40-60hrs... maybe one or two of the eight character's individual stories.

No where. Traveler has now set a bar that the current Switch library will struggle to reach. High hopes for Fire Emblem and Meteoid both being able to match or surpass it.

I would love to play a VR rpg with this style of graphics!
