Media Create published the latest hardware sales from Japan.

Still solid sales numbers for the vita looks like the price cut paid off. Just watch Sony announce 1 for the west at E3.

Wow Muramasa Vita first week sales has almost out sold the first year of the wii version already.

Also ouch at Dragonquest X(33k) Wario & Game(22K).

you do realize that Dragon's Quest was only on the software charts for 1 day when those lists came out right? I mean the weekly charts included the days from March 25th to the 31st. Dragon's Quest launched March 30th. So had Dragon's Quest been available for the entire week the numbers would have been more in the 150k range (based on how much it moved in one day).

Game and Wario came out on the 28th, so its numbers could have potentially been doubled, so say maybe 50k instead..

Those are still rather low first day sales, even considering that it's just the region of Japan.

the numbers aren't huge to be honest. ps3 was selling at 68 000 units a couple of months back, thats what i call huge sales.

doubling your units from the previous week is huge when we are talking about the Wii U. I was just curious what caused the spike, I didn't realize that much software released in Japan. A good sight to see regardless, just like the Vita numbers being up are good as well.

The PS3 spent no significant part of 2012 selling 68,000 units. Short-term sales bursts like Golden Week (May) Obon (August) and the month of December/first week of January are not the usual. It usually sells between 15,000 and 25,000 these days.

You're right, lets compare PS3 sales to the busy time if the year and not now against Wii U sales. Makes perfect sense.

Good to see Vita sales continue to do well and not just a blip. Nintendo needs to get some strong titles for the Wii U and then it should start to pick up and sell at a steady rate.

Hopefully, (and I think they will) WiiU numbers stay like this! If so then WiiU should move off the "Fail-List" too.

Well that depends on how good or bad the console is.

For example: When Nintendo released the Virtually Boy everyone wanted it to fail because it was a horrible portable.

However the Vita is an excellent handheld which is why loads of people want it to succeed.

All I'm saying is that the people who view the Wii U has a horrible last gen console want it to fail on the market and the Nintendo fans who view it as a for gamers wet dream want it to succeed.

The Virtual Boy was never considered a portable gaming device. Nintendo actually considered it a home console as well! The thing had tripod like legs on it, there was nothing portable about it... As for why people want the WiiU to fail, because many think that their way of gaming is the true and only way to game. No different from religion and politics really when you think about it. During election time look at how nasty and devious people get just to hold the number one spot. People run with lies and partial truths in the gaming industry as well it's no different. Mark Rein and UE4 scandal is the latest thing that comes to mind. So quick to mention something that isn't true, just to get the free media publicity.lol

Nahhh! There is nothing new between the war of Sony and Nintendo at the handheld market. DS has a lifetime sales of 150 million+ and psp has a lifetime sales of 75 million+ It would still probably the same with the 3ds and Vita. I am pretty Sure both Will pretty be successful in their own way. Knowing Sony's machines, They are Doing better in the latter rounds. So all the Ninty fanboys saying the Vita is dead where are You now? Look at the Lovely Vita,even without something as big as God of War,GTA and many more big franchises Sony could land at the Vita, The Vita is selling Decently.

Correction almost 4.5 million. Major releases and price cut(both in the hardware and memory cards) in the west will turn all of these around. Original Call of duty and Grand theft Auto etc etc. for the West and Original Final Fantasy and Persona etc. etc, will do justice to Japan

We'll see for reals in April and May. In the whole months of April and May, there are only like 5 Vita games being released. 4 of them on April 25, and 1 of them on May 23. That's it for the next two months. =/

I think they both will come when Capcom gets bored of the 3DS hardware. I will buy a original Resident Evil for the Vita not a revelations port and Monster Hunter looks boring to me so pass.

Whack whack or magical spell elements ? Soul Sacrifice is more interesting to me then Monster Hunter.

I don't understand is how the vita sales have increased in japan,I heard rumors that it is because of two games i.e. phantasy star online 2 protable and soul sacrifice but that can't be the only reason for such a boost.

And now the Wii U is outselling it's former competitors! And this is with it's FIRST big-quality releases for the year. Imagine later this year where even more get released. Take for instance:

- Wind Waker HD
- Bayonetta 2
- Pikmin 3
- The Wonderful 101
- And any other big title that hasn't been announced yet

When the PS Vita outsold the 3DS, I wasn't throwing it in every single Nintendo fans face. I was just happy to see the system do better and the reason for that was because it was a very significant increase in sales.

Is the Wii U sales jump really that impressive? I don't think so. Here is why, not including the fact it really isn't a big spike in sales.

What reason do people really have to buy PS3's or even Xbox 360's anymore?

None really, the PS4 and Xbox 720 will be out fairly soon, there is going to be very little sales for both the PS3 and 360 now because of that. I wouldn't be surprised if the Wii U starts outselling the PS3 for a while until the new systems are released.

The Wii U is considered next gen by many but people constantly compare it with everything from last generation. When the Wii U is outselling the PS4 and Xbox 720 you can brag all you want about your system. I think it is much more justifiable comparing it to systems of the same "class".

For now though why is this considered a good thing? I am not even hating, or being some Sony ass clown. I am seriously questioning based on the logic I just provided why is that good?

I mean it is good it is selling more. I am not shitting all over it, more sales are always good. I just don't get why people are bragging about it.
