Hyperdimension Neptunia Victory Review – Not So Serious - The Koalition

The Koalition writes: "Parody is a difficult concept to master, no matter how long you've been doing it. Consistent and even funny parody does not necessarily make it good or thoughtful parody, which is the ultimate problem facing Hyperdimension Neptunia Victory. The fifth installment in the Sony exclusive JRPG franchise stays in line with the series' traditions of poking fun at itself and even the game industry as a whole, often in very funny ways, but the core game at the heart of it all is just not as deep or engaging as I was hoping for, which could have really pushed this one over the edge."

I knew this game would suck. A bunch of little girls with double Ds is not my thing at all. For shame, Sony.

ShiftyLookingCow4041d ago

What does Sony have to do with this?

IAMERROR4041d ago

Kinda expected the scores for this game...(sigh). Still many western reviewers are not the target audience for these niche games that come from Japan that are clearly made for that culture.

Also clearly this reviewer hasn't played the other games cause...'The fifth installment in the Sony exclusive JRPG franchise'. There has only been 2 other games in the franchise, the V in the title is not a roman numeral 5 but is the letter 'V'. The full name of the game is Hyperdimenion Neptunia 'V'ictory.

My take on the series is if you enjoyed the first 2 game in the series, you will find this game just as enjoyable although very similar with some new additions. If you did not like any of the previous games than don't even bother cause you will not like this one.

I have stated many times that i will support these niche games no matter what western reviewers may think of these titles. I for one do not take these games as serious as some do & enjoy them for what they are.

Screw Reviewers i hope someday gamers stop being mindless drones and judge a game by themeselves rather than trusting in a reviewer that was obviously given a wrong game to review.

I will NEVER again look at reviews when buying games, i only looked at the META score and its 55 and said F it, i bought the game and i'm enjoying it now, game reviews can kiss my ass for good
Hyperdimension Neptunia V is the funniest game i've ever played, and the weirdest too
I'll hopefully get the chance to play the older games in the series

Hyperdimension Neptunia Victory – Enter the Dominatrix

Gary Green said: The concept for a good sequel is not a complicated thing. You take your original idea and expand on the lore, then you fix anything that was broken the first time around. You might want to introduce some new features too; This is fine so long as you don’t go overboard, and you don’t change the overall flow of the game. Hyperdimension Neptunia Victory ticks all of these boxes, so surely then it should be the perfect package? Well, almost. It really is rather good.

A concise history of Hyperdimension Neptunia

Michibiku's Jenni Lada writes, "Hyperdimension Neptunia is huge. It’s a massive series that covers tons of games, all of which are sort of connected? Though also not really, because quite a few are spin-offs and non-canon. It’s a lot to take in, to be sure. With Megadimension Neptunia VII on the horizon, we here at Michibiku felt like we should offer an overview of the main series’ installments."
