Interesting. As I pointed out earlier this week, PS3 owners seem to prefer Tomb Raider over GoWA (330k in 2 weeks vs 155k in 2 weeks). And this time it isn't just the UK, but the entire continent.
I hope Microsoft and SONY take the hint, prequels aren't necessary when you've already wrapped up the main story with pretty much nothing left to say that needs to be said.
That is why both Gears and GoW are under-performing*, people want to move on. . .except of course in rare occasions, like Halo Reach. That story had to be told!

Both GeoW: J and GoW: A were unnecessary prequels. Products that neither consumers nor the marketplace asked for. I'm glad that sales are middling. Each of these franchises should have been brought into next-gen with the development dollars wasted on these projects.

Chain of Olympus is a story that needed to be told and people bought it.
Ghost of Sparta was yet another prequel that didn't need to be told and people largely ignored it.

Of course you're wrong, reason why I edited it was because I knew there was no point in comparing a prequel that came out RIGHT AFTER GOW2 and a second prequel that came out in the SAME YEAR AS THE SERIES FINALE. If I really cared about that, wouldn't it just be easier to completely LEAVE OUT GOS??? LMAO

So what exactly are you arguing here? Gears Judgement, Ascension, Ghost of Sparta. All prequels that came after the main series wrapped up. All 3 suffered less than series standard sales.

That sad think is that Gears is one of the only exclusive 360 franchises and it's still flopping. How Sad!

The same can be said for God of War, Killzone 3, and many others. The thing people forget that this game is not really a main Gears of War game made by Epic, it is developed by their recently purchased studio, PCF, and it is a side story without its man characters as lead. In that aspect, it did what I have expected it to do in terms of sales, which is still pretty good.

Doesn't that support the opposite of what you're saying? If people don't know that it's made by People Can Fly shouldn't that bolster sales?

Either way it looks like a good game and I hope it sells well. Bulletstorm was a good game that deserved better.

Monster Hunter not doing great on Nintendo's consoles. Hopefully this convinces CAPCOM to get their head out of their arse and start making better decisions that aren't just for that quick buck.

Or better yet sell the license for MH to a more competent publisher.
