"Our audience is leaving us behind," Abernathy said. "The world is changing, it has already changed, and we have not been doing a very good job of keeping up with it."
"Women are not a small, special market on the fringe of the core," Abernathy said. "Women are the new core."
The official launch of Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes is finally upon us! The game is now available for PlayStation, Xbox, Switch and PC.
Huzaifa from eXputer: "2008 was home to the likes of Call of Duty: World at War, Dead Space, GTA 4, Far Cry 2, Left 4 Dead, and many other hits, which is outright remarkable."
While the mainstream media always sees things turning in favor of the hero, here are 6 games that own being a bad guy.
Pretty much all of these games listed are based around a morality system you don't have to be bad and you don't have to be good.
It seems to have left out some real amazing games like red dead redemption 1/2,ass effect and true crime la/ny
Armored Core VI?
Ok, I'm really missing something here. Just beat chapter 3 earlier this evening, unlocked A-rank Arena fights. I'm not seeing or sensing any branching paths or morality system and I've done every side mission and arena fight available to me up to that fight.
Is something big coming soon to branch the story?
No mention of Grand Theft Auto? Saints Row (original trilogy), Manhunt? Also The Suffering (depending on the ending you get).
"Our audience is leaving us behind," Abernathy said.
(HE MEANS XBOX 360 AUDIENCE, HARDCORE)
"Women are not a small, special market on the fringe of the core," Abernathy said. "Women are the new core."
(HE MEANS FOCUS IS MORE CASUAL GAMING, KINECT 2)
Looks like Microsoft focus more new core, casual, just like last 3 E3s was all about Kinect.
Nintendo tried re-creat Wii, what is not that good.
Sony goes back to basic, this what gamers love.
Goodluck with that direction Microsoft. Also weird ass job title.
Kinect sold more than original Xbox console.
Also, Microsoft got big profit from Kinect, then of cause they are going to casual. They want same what Nintendo got with Wii.
It´s all about money.
He's right that women make up a large percentage of the core market these days but I get the impression he means it in more of a 'business' sense. Like the fact there are millions of women playing games like farmville so that will become their target audience.
However when I said women make up a lot of the core I meant women who are just as likely to play the next COD and Assassins Creed as the stereotypical 10-25 year old boy.
Hopefully MS realises this too, before they turn their next console into a platform for online bingo and dress up games.
Most likely he's just playing up for the 'hot topic' of women in games at the moment. If they were really serious about changing the image of women in gaming they should do a Nintendo (metroid) and uncover master chief as a woman ;P
