Go back to the days and look that the original Super Mario Bros vs. SMB3. Even back then it took time to learn how to develop for a console. I can't wait to see how the next-gen unfolds.

ps4 has a pc based hardwr, so called custom design some say,by my believes, some skilled developpers already struggle to find the best compromise between performance/image quality.
nothing new here since we all know sony situation is kinda messy.....money side of course,
fact is a fact, day one well see 1080p 30fps or 720 60fps,
something promissed way back 2005/2006, just to remind the younger ones,
i personally wont go the ps4 way since the days of gt5´s release. i lost my patience and sony´s credibility, lets wait and see MSFT or ill just keep my dual gtx680 pumpin!!

the PS4 is a console even with pc architecture PS4 games graphics will continue to evolve just like all the other console that have ever existed go and take a look a MG5 its current gen game that nearly looks next gen.

Killzone was using under 2.2GB RAM so i'd imagine games will improve quite a lot with the second round.
