BioShock Infinite is technically playable on PS Vita through Remote Play

Polygon: While BioShock Infinite does not officially support Remote Play via PlayStation Vita devices, gamer John Trevor has used custom firmware installed on his PlayStation 3 to provide a go-around.

custom firmware :( dang!!

dedicatedtogamers4045d ago

Yep. This is nothing new, either. The "evil, destructive" hackers have been able to remote play pretty much any/every PS3 game for months now. It pisses me off because Sony has been all talk, no show with their promised remote play functionality between the Vita and PS3, yet its obviously possible if hackers can do this.

teedogg804045d ago

I agree. One of the main reasons I bought my Vita was to remotely play my PS3 games. It was a cool feature I just could not pass up. And what do we get, only a handful of games that use it-none of which I even care for. I hope they aren't lying to us again claiming that PS4 games will use it.

Murad4045d ago

Well the difference between hackers and Sonys development team is that hackers truly want to do things that are innovative, which for them is a challenge and which for them is to have remote play for every game.
Sony on the other hand just want to have a selling point, which for them is to bullshit everyone about having remote play with everything.

Murad4045d ago

@teedog
I think of it like this man. If I actually owned a Vita, I would see if Sony would actually have the remote play feature for every game for the first year or so, and if it didn't I would just install custom firmware, and take advantage of all its features.

Harkins17214045d ago

The reason its going to be different with the Ps4 is because Sony like Microsoft will have a set of rules for there system to support the Vita. I mean look at all this past month on what Sony has been doing with the Vita Ps3, Ps4 in terms of games/ Indie games. I have no doubt that the Vita will be a big contender with the Ps4 with remote play.

WalterWJR4045d ago

Remote play via custom firmware is barely playable. Sony want to make it a good experience before they implement it properly in the ps4.

they never actually promised every game would be playable through remote play for ps3

Video length is 1337 on purpose.

I think developers should allow all PS3 games to be played on the PS Vita.

I mean it's not even that hard through Remote Play. You want L2,R2,L3 and R3? Just use the back touch pad like GOW HD and Ico&Shadow Of The Colossus does. No biggy.

HarryMasonHerpderp4045d ago (Edited 4045d ago )

It feels like Sony used the PS3 as a beta test with remote play for the PS4. It's practically useless on the PS3 there is about 2 worth while games to use it with (Shadows of the colossus and God of war) Here's hoping they do a better job of it next gen because there is a lot of untapped potential.

Kingthrash3604045d ago

I actually commented the same last month when the ps4 was shown. I feel the ps3 remote play was a beta test which worked pretty well but now with gaikie in the mix the remote play will be even better.
Sony is clearly trying to turn a new leaf and give gamers/dev what they want....ps4 will be a whole new ballgame. Still waiting on 720. the rumors are making it look pretty...bad. I dont pay much attention to rumors but that always on, no used games, and Kinect watching you stuff are pretty unappealing

o-Sunny-o4045d ago

I would cry playing it on my Vita...PS4 hurry up dam you!

Yeah was checking out how the move would work with the game & it seems pretty good aswell. http://www.youtube.com/watc...

Top 10 Rarest Xbox 360 Games That Are Worth a Fortune

Twinfinite: “War may never change, but the prices of rare games do!”

"And lastly, famous Boston Red Sox pitcher Curt Schilling helped to create the action-RPG’s setting. What’s really fascinating, though, is that the game was partially financed by taxpayers from Rhode Island (which allegedly lost the state millions of dollars). Yikes!"

1. Now infamous Schilling
2. No allegedly, it did. And they couldn't pay it back.
3. What really lost the money wasn't the SP release but the MMO they were working on. This was supposed to be an introduction into the MMO world.

Soy272d ago

I hate counting limited editions for these lists. I mean, they're made to be rare and expensive. It's far more interesting to hear about the NCAAs (even if most people know that one already) and the El Chavos than some massive hit that came with a $200 statue at retail.

gamerz272d ago

Me too. Here's the best I can do:

El Chavo Kart $90.14
NCAA Football 14 $87.72
Spiderman: Edge of Time $75.94
Spiderman Web of Shadows $75.09
Spiderman: Shattered Dimensions $67.76

Christopher271d ago

Wow, El Chavo Kart is not at all what I expected by the name. 100% looks like a Sackboy Kart game.

Soy271d ago

It's so odd that so many Spider-Man games are seemingly given lower print runs, even if they're not the best games.

jznrpg272d ago (Edited 272d ago )

Most Xbox games don’t hold as much value compared to other systems. Kameo, Blue Dragon, Last Remnant , and a handful or 2 of other games that I kept.

8 Best Games Set In A Multiverse

One of the biggest TV and movie tropes in the last decade has been the multiverse, the idea of exploring multiple dimensions to uncover alternate versions of existing ideas. From both a business and creative perspective, it makes sense why established franchises are shaking things up in this way.

However, there aren't many video games latching on to this trend, as rendering multiple worlds in real-time is a difficult feat and the medium is relatively young in comparison to its contemporaries, making crossover opportunities more difficult. Still, there are a few great titles that manage enough to overcome these challenges, and here are some of the best examples.

While I love someone mentioning Planescape, not really multiverse. Planes and dimensions, yes. But, they are typically their own locations and are very rarely tied to another 'verse' let alone another plane. The only things that are directly tied are the ethereal and material planes. Otherwise, they are dimensions created of their own design and goals by the creator/owner and not comprised of 'their own version of another dimension'.
