Critics somehow shocked as Battlefield 4 contains yet more shooting and guns

Alcoholic beverages have been angrily dashed to the ground tonight in unprecedented quantities as games critics both online and in person at the Battlefield 4 event in San Francisco expressed their shock and outrage that Battlefield 4 would be basically the same as Battlefield 3.

Not really , you are indeed asking a lot from a franchise with its own tropes and trappings .

What's mostly asked from a BF title is to respect the epic scope mantra along with destruction and some semi realistic action .

To reinvent the wheel , ask someone else . Or demand it from a far more milked franchise truly needing more new blood .

I love how people around here act as if usually they got fps games with big amount of players + a wide variety vehicules and level destruction besides Battlefield .

It was always going to be like Battlefield. You're not going to see a big successful IP innovate. What you get each time is an evolution of the previous game. Short of a reboot you will never see a succesful game break that formula.

Now whether you choose to accept that is up to you, but let me tell you, Cod, Fifa, Halo, Gran Turismo, Gow (Gears and God)...not one of them will be innovators. They will simply polish what has proven to be a winning formula for them. If you want innovation you have to look at new IPs, but the truth is games like Battlefield are popular because they've found a style and identity that works.

Its a pure USA propaganda plot. USA/NATO soldiers Heros while the rest of the world bad guys/terrorists.
The truth is the other way around.

Games are made to entertain and educated people. Not used for propaganda purpose to brainwash the youth.

they have the highest technology availeable and therefore are the number one party to pick for such a game as battlefield, as you get a lot of tools and stuff to impress the gamer..

And btw you do get to play both sides of the "fictional" conflict in mp anyways.

in bf1942 you could even play the germans
in vietnam the Vietcong forces
etc.

Love BF games so i was excited to see this but after watching the video i came away feeling that BF4 is going to be nothing special and the graphics were good but not mind blowing IMO i thought KILLZONE 'SHADOW FALL' looked better but that's me!!!!

Kz may indeed look better but the multiplayer gets old fast.. Unlock everything in 10 -15 hours its fun but not enough variety ...
Also to prevent base rape in bf every base should have AA gun beefed up with terrain blocking major points

Also plz give us a solid campaign. I can see it looks and feels EPIC for sure but this time I want to remember the story and empathize with the characters.

maybe tactical equipment,more attachments for guns,more open and less linear missions for campaign,offline mp ,more action instead of the same things,interesting characters,better footage showing hints of what the mp would be like and much more including vehicles,more new features,a proper trailer not only gameplay footage and a 30 seconds reveal trailer,the level was a snore fest...BF4 is going to fail in its expectations and hype by many as BF3 disappointingly did

I bought Battlefild 3 Premium and It's great, great multiplayer and 5 expansions¡

But the 4 is very similar to B3, the same vehicles, history, enemies and scenarios like the desert and the dunes :( . The game looks great, but It's version is 3.5.

Its sad that they're still stuck in their on loop. Ya action explosions are great, but I can already tell they're over doing it. I know that's one of the main aspects of battlefield, but I have a feeling its just gonna do a repeat of battlefield 3's story, boring characters with no personality. I can't even name one character from the story, I never could. I really hope this isn't the case with this one, but I doubt it.
